Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Worse Computer I ever bought , the same issuie everyone is complaining about happens to mine too This is the worst computer I've ever bought . It's WiFi shuts 3-5 times daily requires a restart everytime . I've never seen anything like it. My Photoshop fails constantly if I'm uploading a video while trying to edit. My Microsoft outlook doesn't load properly sometimes it takes 3 times to open , I can open it up in the mail tab everytime though . I have to save everything everytime the WiFi drops , to reboot it won't even open the box to reconnect. After installing all my software and getting to use it my 30 days is up. I'd love to return it but cannot without spending fees. I may have to just ditch it and go buy a Dell because moving forward I can't even imagine dealing with this for the next 4 years, it'll cost me so much time and loss of work it's simply not worth saving a few bucks instead of buying the Dell I wanted

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ray R. from Excellent Expandable, Affordable Desktop PC. My 10 year old HP Envy h8-1534 was always very reliable with many upgrades over the years. When it came time to replace it, I was happy to see that HP still made the Envy. It has a smaller case but I've already added 2 SSD and 1 HDD from the older Envy, with room for more if necessary. This is a very fast machine. have already upgraded the stock 8GB of memory to 32GB for about $60. Also installed an SATA expansion card for adding the additional drives. The SATA card was purchased for the old Envy but it didn't work, but does work in the new Envy. The only thing that I would like added would be an additional card slot as there is room for it in the case. Over all, very pleased with this machine so far. Quiet too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eric L. from Pay attention to the Operating system you're getting. I got the wrong operating system and had to buy an upgrade separately. It was hard to upgrade the system and I had to contact the people I bought the upgrade from just to get the upgrade to activate. It should be easier to activate the upgrade. I also do not like having to make a google account. I feel like I shouldn't have to create an account just to get the machine going if I don't want to. They make you start an account or link an account before you even get to the home screen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Incorrect Specs on Listing, Decent PC IT COMES WITH AN i5, NOT AN i7. TL;DR: It’s a fine, competent prebuilt with an obviously aging design sensibility. You’ll likely want to spend a bit extra to upgrade, but it’s fine as-is for light to middling tasks. If you get it at roughly $725 (with shipping/tax) that I did, I think it’s a fair deal. Any more and I’d consider other listings, as you may be able snag something with a 30-series GPU for below $1K that will be a better deal with a longer lifespan. Those looking to buy may notice an i5 is in the name of the listing, but in the specifications an i7 is listed. Despite being told it has an i7 after asking through HP’s support chat, my PC arrived with the i5. I do not consider this false advertising since i5 is in the main title, but it is confusing due to the mixed messaging nonetheless. That being said, the PC is surprisingly small, which I see as a positive, and the build quality is overall nice. It has an extra black metal bracket inside for no particular reason which gets in the way of airflow as well as RAM and storage upgrades; I removed it with just a couple screws to upgrade both things and left it out to no detriment. It may be good for attaching multiple hard drives, but just use SSDs, please. Speaking of, the storage and RAM setup here is a little dated. For any relatively involved school or office work, you’ll want at least 12 GB of RAM, and for gaming go for 16; this build only comes with 8 GB, although it’s at least 2 sticks of 4 GB to get the dual-channel going. The storage situation’s weird. The 256 GB m.2 is fine, no complaints here - it’s small, sure, but it’s fine as a boot drive. My complaint is with the secondary drive - a geriatric 1 TB SATA hard drive. It’s slower, uses notably more electricity, and is less reliable than a SATA-wired SSD. All in all, I spent an extra $150 after purchasing this PC to buy a 2 x 8 GB RAM kit and a 2 TB SATA SSD. I don’t feel ripped off, necessarily, as the PC’s still pretty darn cheap, but if you want this machine to game, you’ll want to make similar upgrades. My last concern is cooling: there’s only one case fan. There is a CPU and GPU fan on those items, but there is only one exhaust fan for the actual case. An intake fan, or at least a more competent exhaust fan that’s from a reputable fanmaker like Noctua, is something I’m considering. For now, the PC doesn’t seem to be too hot. It’s only running an i5 and a 1660 Super, which aren’t particularly hot parts. Overall? It’s a fine, competent prebuilt with an obviously aging design sensibility. You’ll likely want to spend a bit extra to upgrade, but it’s fine as-is for light to middling tasks. If you get it at the roughly $725 (with shipping/tax) that I did, I think it’s a fair deal. Any more and I’d consider other places, as you may be able snag something with a 30-series GPU for below $1K that will be a better deal with a longer lifespan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by badjen6 from Minor Stuff I overall like the unit. I am just frustrated about "default gateway is not available". It seems the only option I haven't tried is working on the registry. I'm not sure what my position is on Windows 11. I am very disappointed with my mouse. The right button is very sensitive. This really causes problems when typing. Example when attempting to placer the curser for a correction and you get these popup windows. Is there something I can do to ease this problem?

Rated 4 out of 5 by yuhh!!11113 from WORKS WELL SO aside from disconnecting from the internet this product is great and runs very well, I never experience losing the internet while gaming but only while on the browser so I disconnect. Before I moved my PC (far from the router) it would almost always disconnect but all I have to do is reconnect it but sometimes it would not let me do that so i would have to turn on then off my PC, ever since I moved my PC to be a lot closer to the router it seemed to work a lot better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cyber Police from Stay Away Bought this brand new, excited for the faster specs at a great price, however everyone should stay away. The network issues with the WiFi randomly dropping connection is unacceptable when doing urgent important tasks especially as a college student. The PC is able to see the different networks around but for some reason loses sight of the one it is currently connected to which is very confusing and makes no sense. The only way to temporarily fix this issue and get connected back to the main Wi-Fi channel is to restart the computer. You would think you would be getting a reliable computer at this price point range, but I am afraid HP fails to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by satcom4fun from Great desktop computer. I bought this computer a week ago. It boots up in 3 sec. on the 256GB SSD. The graphics are fantastic. Win11 is OK, seems like Win10 with a new start menu. Watch out for OneDrive folders for Desktop, Photos, Documents, etc., which will fill the cloud quickly. I moved them to the 2TB HDD and added to Quick Access. Lots of USB ports, 1 HDMI, and 3 Display ports. Height is 2" smaller than a 2015 HP Envy tower. I can work on this!

Rated 2 out of 5 by HP buyer25 from Maybe not your first choice The desktop computer I bought from HP had a problem with the network card (wi fi would disconnect every now and then) and when connected an ethernet cable wouldn’t work. I need to send the broke one back and then I will be sent another one. HP didn’t offer the choice of waiting until getting the new one to send the broke one back. So if you work from home and need the computer, HP is not your first choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dilkry from So far. so good The setup was quick and easy. I did have to disable some items from startup that I do not need to start up and to remove McAfee but it was minor so very little bloatware on the system. I was able to install all my programs and apps. And I had no problems installing all my Microsoft apps as I have a heavy MS user. The only thing I have to do that I have not done yet is install a new SSD SATA drive and make it my primary drive. I can see where the hybrid SSD of 250 GB will run out quickly. Not sure how well this upgrade will go to a 1TB SSD but we will see.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tiny143 from The Idea of the computer is great not so much HP s The computer itself would be great if I didn't have to pay for HP to look at the computer two days after setting it up. They want to charge me because it's not a hardware issue. The wifi disconnects every single time I use it and once that happens I can't go into any settings. If I restart it freezes. I have to hard shut off. I will never buy online again. I should have gone to a physical store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pauly001 from A fine desktop PC I had been shopping for some time and came across this on hp.com at a promotional price. I love the SSD / hard drive combo: things boots/wakes up quickly and easy to set up back up with data organized on the hard drive. Executables on the SSD. I paired it with an LG 4K monitor with a Klipsch 2.1 speaker system and the playback has been excellent. The ad content and purchase suggestions were misleading, recommending purchase of an HP 230 Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combo: to me that implied no mouse or kb came with the combo, so I ended up with an unused 230 combo. I'm a long time fan of Logitech input devices: the HP mouse and keyboard that came with the system were very basic in function and feel, especially the chicklet-style KB. No games for me, and I haven't edited video content yet, so I haven't really taxed the video card. It does a super job with SketchUp Pro CAD software. It did come with Windows 11 already installed. I've experienced no system or app crashes. So, at this 2 week of ownership point, I'm satisfied with the system, especially at the on-sale price-point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pattiann HuzzahPhotoworks from Good deal on a HP desktop for video editing. I just love getting a new computer, the only drag is moving files and software. For those that require it, HP offers a service or software to accomplish that. It was $50. I didn't need that because I am keeping my old computer. I found this machine to be efficient and fast. And it was Available! So many computers are out of stock lately. I needed a better computer to do video editing and this one was reasonably priced. I have found only 3 things that I don't like. The power button is a small sliver of a thing and hard to press as it is flush with the case. I had to stick my thumbnail into the case to activate it. I resolved that by using a piece of clear thick plastic that had an adhesive backing. It's clear plastic and so the "on lamp" shines thru it. Second, the machine is kind of loud. Well, louder than I expected. It makes a humming noise which may be normal, but I found it annoying and placed the CPU under my desk which helps. My other computer is silent, but it is not a powerful computer. The only other thing is that the audio output is very low. I have to slide the speaker volume all the way up to 80 or 100. Oh, well. I have to say it processes video very fast!! I love having a stainless steel drive finally.

Anyone else having an issue with WIFI being unstable? My new system is intermittently dropping the connection. Have spent hours with HP support and looking at 2-3 days to get a repair box to repair then 8-10 days to repair then return to me. Not cool!

Asked by: Corey S
YES! I bought a thousand dollar TE01-2275xt and have been in misery for 6 weeks! I knew the computer was a dud and spent a trillion hours on the phone with not only HP technical but also with my internet service provider. I replaced all of my wi-fi and internet equipment, and ended up sending my tower back for a replacement, and guess what? THE REPLACEMENT DID THE SAME THING! So the Envy TE01-2275xt is a bad model. Six full weeks of going through heck over this and I returned it today for a refund and will choose a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT model this time around. Here is what mine was doing: it would connect to wi-fi intermittently, it would ALWAYS disconnect, lose connection, show no connection. It would be fine for 1 minute or 20 minutes, but it would always without fail, disconnect to the point of a re-boot just to get it to work for me for a minute or two. We should be offered a discount for all this trouble, stress, frustration, lost work, lost time, inconvenience, and all the hours we've flushed on this situation. We shall see.
