I was going to buy a MAC since my primary home need is multitrack audio recording, but the deal on this machine was too good to pass up and it is working better than fine for my needs.

I suspect windows 11 upgrade did not install properly causing this but I am definitely not a Tech person so no idea what is going on for sure. It’s been incredibly frustrating and I have considered sending it back.

I dont mind the ratio, its actually quite nice. Plenty of resources to run many applications including vmware guests.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Issues The laptop as a whole so far has been fine my issue is that I use facial reconision to sign on and it stopped being able to access the the camera to do that. This is the same problem I had with my last laptop. So I started using the finger print scanner and then that stopped working. I would really like to know what the fix is for this and I did send a message to HP about the issue but havent heard anything back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Janicek1234 from Terrible Display Screen I like most things about this laptop except the display screen. It has gray shadows unless your head is in the exact correct spot. If the screen isn't tilted exactly right then the gray shadows show up again. Even if my head is directly in the center when looking at the screen the sides appear darker. If I adjust the screen brightness it doesn't make the dark shadows go away it just gives a bright glare which is also hard on the eyes. Since I look at my computer about 8-9 hours a day this is a pretty big problem.

Often, I would use a cloud based environment because my RAM tapped out with a few virtual machines. I came across the HP Elitebook 860 G9 doing a search for power laptops. I brought this during one of HP's recent sales promotions can waited like a kid for delivery. I love this laptop already as I was able to use it for demo's and developing projects. It's working out to be a great laptop that allows me not to feel tethered to a desktop for resource hungry programs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by F. J. from Fast and able to handle a lot, but physical design is not strong There is no ability for a touch screen, which would have been nice. The touchpad is huge, but the keyboard and arrows for the up, down, right, left functionality is very small. The power button is situated right next to the delete button, so it occasionally gets pressed when pushing the delete button. The keyboard and numpad seem very small relative the huge amount of space for the touchpad. When opening and closing the laptop, you want to avoid touching the middle of the top edge because the built-in cover for the camera is right in the middle. It has a built-in cover for the camera, which is nice, but it is flimsy. If it broke, it will be difficult to open and close the cover over the camera. All that being said, the laptop functions quickly and well. I have the ability to open multiple programs (Chrome, MS Word, VMs, etc) and functionality doesn't slow down. It also has the ability to have multiple desktops, so I can switch between the work desktop and the personal desktop. I have a lot of storage, so I don't have to worry about pictures or videos taking up too much space on my computer.

Number of ports and types are lacking. If the WiFi does not function this unit cannot be connected to the internet without procuring some adapter to connect to an ethernet connection. USB hub is almost a must.

To my joy I had a USB hub that seems to overcome that problem. I really like that the startup is near instantaneous and launching some apps is fast.

However, the fan on this thing is ridiculously loud, to the point it's not good for conducting Teams or Zoom meetings. People on the other end thought I was outside at an airport or something with all the background noise. I've had gaming rigs that didn't make this much noise, and all I was running was Teams. I did contact customer support who ran some tests, and was able to let the rep hear the fan noise over the call. They were quick to send a box for me to return the laptop so they can attempt to fix the issue. I'll update the rating once I get a response/new laptop, but for now it's 2 stars max.

No, this HP EliteBook 860 16-inch G9 Notebook PC will support two external displays. One via the HDMI port and the other via one of the two Thunderbolt ports. The other Thunderbolt Port will be used to charge the PC. As this EliteBook comes with a USB-C charger this will not come with an individual AC port. The only AC ports are the Thunderbolt ports. Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, this HP EliteBook 860 16 inch G9 Notebook PC does not come with a WWAN card installed. This has a Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5.2 combo (Supporting Gigabit data rate) but not the WWAN.

Most modern laptops no longer feature built-in CD drives or many USB ports. As customer buying trends gravitated to lighter laptops with longer battery life, and most software, music, and video are available digitally, CD drives have been practically eliminated on laptops. If a CD drive is needed an external USB drive is recommended. Also if more USB ports are needed then a USB hub or an HP Thunderbolt Dock is recommended. With a Thunderbolt Dock, you can use multiple external displays with your EliteBook.
