Price was better value than PC I ultimately went with but I was disappointed that I was charged a 15% fee to return. Would have been a 3-4 star HP experience otherwise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Cost Basis from USB ports failure within 2 weeks and power issues My USB ports failed within 2 weeks. I also had strange powering on and off issues. Spoke with HP Tech and determined it was attributable to hardware failure. HP should have provided me an option to send a brand new replacement not just repair. To repair the laptop you have to send it back and it takes at least 7 business days. I was concerned I received a lemon and that there might be some other issues. HP do better, provide an option for a complete replacement if hardware failure occurs within the return window. In the end, I sent it back for a refund.

Pros: -Fast -Light -Easy to login with Fingerprint -Very nice expansion ports -The keyboard is very "tactile" for a laptop. I like the feedback on it -Nice processor and RAM -Nice camera and mic, once you figure out there is a slide on the camera Cons -I wish the video card was a bit better -- seems underkill for the RAM and processor myself -2 very nice USB-C Ports that have high throughput, but one is used for charging. -Small battery

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mr. Joe from Avoid BIOS Updates like the plague The Elitebook is attractive. It is light weight. It arrived with Windows 10 installed. I was able to easily upgrade it to Windows 11. It is responsive. The battery life is very good. I received the laptop on a Monday. I upgraded to Windows 11 the next night. On Saturday morning, I applied a large number of updates through Windows Update. These included a BIOS update. I watched the BIOS update apply. After the machine rebooted, it looked like it was in sleep mode. Nothing could get it to 'wake up'. After trying several different "fixes", it was still in perma-sleep. So, I had to contact support. They had to send me a box to return it. This is for a laptop that I have had for less than 7days. I still had the original box. But, I had to wait for the 'official' support box to arrive. I checked the laptop each night on the off chance that it had drained of power. On the following Wednesday, the LED in the power key had quit indicating sleep. I hit the button. Good News! The laptop sprang back to life. The box arrived on Friday morning. I think that I'll just close the incident and keep the laptop. Going forward, I'll just avoid HP BIOS updates like the plague. It is not worth losing access to the machine for 5 days. Of course, problems that go away on their own come back on their own. Hopefully, this thing won't decide to play Rip Van Winkle again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nunya Beeswax from Works well as a laptop, built like a tank I purchased this laptop after my previous one died. My goal was to get a laptop that had decent performance, but my primary focus was durability and overall usefulness as a laptop first and foremost. This one certainly delivered, especially at the price it shipped at on Cyber Monday. The frame is solid, there is almost no keyboard flex, and the upper screen was extremely sturdy given how relatively thin it is. The feature I appreciate the most, however, is just how easy it is to upgrade. The backside is secured by a total of five phillips screws, all of which are captive to make it hard to lose them, and from there, both SODIMM slots, an m.2 key-m slot for an SSD, an m.2 key-e slot for wifi, and an m.2 key-a slot for WLAN are all upgradable. That's not something you can take for granted in modern thin-and-light notebooks. The m.2 wifi module on my unit was broken upon arrival, but it was fairly simple to swap it out for the one from my old laptop. Performance-wise, I would encourage you to look at a review of another notebook containing the Ryzen 5 6600U. A highlight is that the 6600U includes Radeon 660M graphics; the combination of RDNA2 cores (as opposed to the older vega architecture on 5000 series and prior) and higher frequency DDR5 mean that, despite not being the highest end SKU, the 6600M can compete with a lot of last-gen discrete GPUs. I should point out, however, that if you do plan on relying on the graphics performance, you should strongly consider adding another stick of memory; iGPUs use system memory instead of their own onboard VRAM, so going from single-channel to dual-channel is going to make a huge difference in that regard.

Not to mention all of the information it asks you for is so invasive. I just want to use a computer I don't want a government leash what is this. Windows 10 is like a wire tap.

An internal DVD/CD drive cannot be added to this HP EliteBook 845 14-inch G9 Notebook PC. In order to keep the thickness and weight down on the laptop, an internal drive is not included. An external USB DVD/CD drive is your option. This EliteBook has a maximum RAM of 64 GB DDR5-4800 MHz RAM. This laptop takes SODIMM memory.

Thank you for your question! The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has 2 USB4™️ Type-C®️ 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™️ 1.4) and 2 SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate (1 charging). The "SuperSpeed USB" are type A ports which will not support Thunderbolt 3 or DisplayPort with PowerDelivery, but then it doesn't need to because this EliteBook has 2 USB-C ports that already support that.
