Very happy with this desktop. I purchased it on MLK day and was happy with the discount. The Ryzen 7 8700G processor functions smoothly with Windows 11 Pro. I like that fact that the system came with 32 G/5600 memory installed and has 4 UDIMM slots that can address up to 128 G of memory. Although I would have preferred a system with PCIe 5, I'm not complaining as the PCIe 4 is sufficient for the price. The wireless functions properly using a small external antenna. The 1TB SSD is perfect for me.

Powerful, modern, easily expandable business class machine.
This is a very well appointed business machine with plenty of room for expansion. The main M2 slot has a heat sink and sits under the plastic cowl that ducts fan air over the CPU heat sink. There is a second M2 slot that is elevated above the board for good air circulation. Two unused SATA jacks and physical space for spinning drives if you need them. The power supply is efficient but not rated for much over the needs of the base machine so fitting a high-powered X16 PCIE video card would be possible and upgrading the power supply would be difficult. The WIFI and Bluetooth are up to new standards and have a cumbersome but very effective external antenna. 4 DIMM slots make it easy and inexpensive to add RAM if you want.

What is the eject button for on the top/right side of the case if an optical drive can't be added?

Can an optical drive be added to this computer? If so, what is the HP part number?
Thanks for your question about the HP Elite SFF 805 G9 Desktop PC. There is no way to add an internal disk drive to this model. Your best option would be to use a USB external disk drive. does the 805 g9 support ECC RAM with the ryzen pro series cpu?
Hello. Thanks for your question. The HP Elite SFF 805 G9 Desktop does not support ECC RAM with the Ryzen Pro series CPU. It uses non-ECC UDIMM RAM instead.
