Product good, customer service bad
The ink is great, but the "Instant Ink" program is run by the Keystone Cops. They *still* haven't gotten things straight on our subscriptions. My wife and I have separate printers for our two offices, but HP can't figure out that our two ink subscriptions are for two separate printers. We keep getting notices that our subscription has lapsed--this despite numerous phone calls with HP reps. HP is lucky it's product is good, because it's customer service is baaaaaad. If you get one, prepare to spend a LOT of time on the phone with customer service people.

HP ink is way too expensive
After buying an off brand cartridge, I realized i couldnt use it because HP requires a chip in the cratridge for it to function in an HP printer. Not sure if that is being held hostage or the definition of blackmail....
I will do more research and buy a new Non-HP printer (cheaper than what I can buy new cartridges from HP)....
Cartridges work fine and install was easy....

Ink cartridge replacement
Purchased ink and had it ready to replace my old ink 966XL cartridge within 3 minutes of it running out. Once it was swapped, the printer suffered supply error that could not be corrected through conventional troubleshooting methods issued by HP. This, in my opinion, was a software imbedded planned obsolescence because my printer had exceeded the the lifespan expected by HP. No issues with printer until ink cartridge was replaced…this is the first 962XL cartridge since 966XL had been phased out and no longer available through HP. I doubt I ever buy from HP again. This is a big company chasing dollars not loyalty. It’s a bad look as a brand the public trusts for reliability.

Great Product
I've been using these HP-962xl ink cartridges for several years. What I can really say is that "They work real fine and last a long time!" I have two printers that use these cartridges and they work great in both printers.

Great Ink-High Price
The ink is great. The price not so much. Can’t use off-brand or printer eventually recognizes it and locks up, forcing the HP purchase to print. That feels wrong especially when it’s 2x’s the cost. Not cool HP.

HP’s ink cartridge shipping is unreliable
My first ink cartridge order (HP shipped via DHL) took 2 weeks to get delivered and not the 3-5 days as advertised. My second cartridge order was lost by DHL and I never got the cartridge delivered at all. I will no longer order ink cartridges from HP.

Received WRONG ink cartridge
For many years, I have ordered only HP ink cartridges online for my HP Office Jet Pro 6978. The convenience of ordering online with free shipping has been super convenient. My order on Sept. 30, 2025 I ordered 902 Highy-yield black ink cartridge online; on Oct. 24, 2025, I was sent 962 ink cartridge. The wrong cartridge. But Courtney through Chat online corrected the issue. And another HP employee over the phone sent me the FedEx label free shipping return label to me. So the problem was resolved. I'm awaiting a credit of $69.91 for the incorrect cartridge that I sent back to HP when HP receives it.

NEVER AGAIN!!!
Printer worked fine until I got new cartridges then even replacing them 2x the printer would not recognize them. I've had HP for decades and they've all been designed to fail. After spending countless years and an obscene amount of money, I'm done. I refuse to contribute one more cent of my hard earned money on your inferior products and customer service LOL don't even get me started.

It would be nice if you’ve didn’t have to spend 100.00 for a black cartridge that you can’t use alone. You have to have all four cartridges in the printer to just use black ink. Very aggravating .

Printer ink and associated printer software
When the class action lawsuit happens, I would like to participate. I order all 4 ink colors. Black in arrived and I replaced it in the printer. However, the printer still would not operate without the other colors even if I only wanted to print in black ink. What a scam! The other colors arrived about 2 weeks later. In addition, I had to reload the printer software to get my 2 printers to function. I am NOT a happy camper. I will never purchase another HP printer and if the corporate behavior continues, it will also be my last computer or laptop. I had a situation like this with one of Apples first computers. I have never purchased another Apple product again. Customers have options with many competitors. HP needs to think about there long game...is it really worth it!
