No On-site Desktop Support to setup new PC
Purchased the HP Care Pack with the understanding it included on-site support for set up and migration of a new desktop PC. Found out that this service is not included in the three day on site support, although that was the only reason I agreed to include the purchase the HP Care Pack with a new desktop PC. HP only offers virtual assistance for setting up and migration of a new desktop PC.
Both computer and HP Care Pack were returned to HP for not meeting expectations.

WARRANTY2
The service was so bad that I had to ask for a refund! HP was not interested in satisfying the customer (me)! All I wanted was to bring the WARRANTY up to date. There is some stupid rule that says to ignore the manufacturer's one year warranty, so the extended warranty starts at the purchase date of the item for the warranty. I am doing without a warranty!!!

Good for peace of mind, but could be improved
For my 67th birthday, I treated myself to the HP Envy TE01-3254 desktop with 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, etc. It's been a nice running machine thus far. The HP Care Pack fine print promises to extend the 1-year parts/labor warranty to 3, and a full refund if I don't use it beyond phone help.
Here are HP's actual terms for a full refund: "The eligible products must not have had a service event from the purchase date of the care pack until the end of the Care pack coverage period. A service event will have occurred if HP either sends parts, a replacement or a person onsite to the customer or if the product is transported to an HP repair depot. A phone call, phone support, or chat support is not a service event."
A criticism: Without this plan, it costs nothing, under the first-year warranty (free parts and labor) for a repair. With this plan (if bought at the time of your HP PC's purchase, as I did), you LOSE your extended care payment for a repair made during that FIRST year. That's literally degrading the value of the normal warranty that comes with this machine!
HP should amend its terms to carve out the first year for those, like me, who simultaneously purchased its HP Care Pack with a new HP PC. It should thus nick you only if you incur a "service event" in years 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, my aging mind (assisted by my electronic wives, Siri and Alexa) must remember to request that refund within the refund-request time limit that HP imposes at the end of those 3 years (read: it won't give it to you if you don't request it, even if you never use their extended care service). HP COULD just automatically refund your payment, since it would know whether you consumed its extended-care service, right? But it won't (so, it's evidently counting on forgetfulness).
CONS: HP gets the use value of that cash, not to mention all of it if you drop the refund-request ball. It also seems to punish extended care customers if they use the service in the first year -- because we forfeit the promised refund and it thus costs us while non-extended care customers pay nothing for first-year repairs.
PROS: This deal is good for folks who are confident their machine will not falter in the first year of its life and want peace of mind for years 2-3. Added bonus -- they reap a full refund if they're lucky and their product never fails during that 3-year period.
I'll upgrade my review to Five Stars if HP amends its program as I've prescribed (1st-year carve out, automatically refund if the service is never used).

lockups and very slow boot ups
During the first month my new system locked up two times and was very slow booting up still to this date. I fund leaving system one reduces the problems I was having. So change your power setting to never turn off cpu when entering the sleep mode.

Key board issue
Care pack has no value. To confirm a problem i had identified with a brand new keyboard, they spent many hours to trouble shoot and come to same conclusion

Not credited for warranty time.
I bought this extended warranty, but it never showed up in my account.
Seems like a disconnect between ordering and getting credited for the extra warranty time.

My HP Envy
I understood that this covered the computer against anything but physical damage. That took some conversation to get a tech to my houses. If he show up Friday.
