Complete rip off. I just had to replace 4 toner cartridges in my HP printer (black, cyan, yellow and magenta). The cost to replace with high-yield cartridges? Just shy of $1,000. Yes, $1,000 for the 4. Compatible cartridges available online are programmed to be rejected by my HP printer as not being authentic HP product. Instead of being helpful to customers, HP is making sure to fill their own coffers. Sell cheap printers with hardly toner and then suck customers dry with having to buy toner from HP alone. Way to go HP.

Does HP W2100x, W2101X, W2102X and W2103X have a chip in them?
The toner cartridges do have chips in them that help the printer properly recognize and help maintain the cartridge through various functions.
