There was a 5% off promotion during black Friday and I applied it to the order. In the last step it got dropped. Make sure you check your total at very step. I was very disappointed since that was one of the reasons I bought it.

The big problem is the battery won't charge beyond 41%. I've ordered a factory replacement charger. We'll see how that goes. HP Start menu leaves a lot to be desired but that's just me. The crappy display and power are the big issues

Rated 5 out of 5 by pgrss-de from Beautiful replacement of a previous custom-built unit. The transaction was accomplished through working with a representative in a chat session. I was concerned about the price, she helped me tremendously finding the right discounts and even was able to apply a coupon above what I was allotted through my employee discount. It meant having to configure a unit with the exact specifications I wanted, which was touch screen, 17.3" screen, 16 GB memory and 512 GB hard drive. I followed my order through the process, which was completed quickly. Even the shipping (international) showed every step in the process. The only glitch was when I discovered through the FED-ex tracking that there was an invalid address holding up the delivery that whoever generated the shipping label inserted my phone number in place of the street address. This took about a half hour on the phone on Black Friday with FED-ex and then an hour with HP to straighten out. They were able to redirect the package to a drop-off center three blocks from where I live. This only delayed the shipment by one day. Thankful I was watching the tracking information so closely. The laptop is beautiful, exactly what I ordered, and so far, is performing beautifully. I love the Silver/Silver (only option for the touchscreen), with only the screen frame as black. The previous model I had (also a custom build) the keyboard plate (black plastic) started cracking by the hinge, and I was worried about it interfering with the power cord connection.

I've followed step by step after troubleshooting and the support articles solve my issues. My first three HP's were great. My fourth and this newest one have the same lack of attention to case design. This laptop is difficult to open. My old HP laptop had plenty of "lip" to get my fingers between to easily open. Not so with this unit.

Never had a complaint the entire time I've had it. As a full time engineering student, this computer has been phenomenal at handling the workload I have to throw at it.

The first thing I noticed was that the visual dynamics of the screen was mattered and dull and not vibrant, the feel of the laptop itself was not of a sturdy well-made product and felt second hand and generic. The lit keyboard was OK but the silver keypad and shape of the keys could have been better designed, but the worst part about the operating system, that I had to download three times before I returned it my first day, was that there was no biometrics driver downloaded in the Device Manager. And after spending several of my valuable time and hours with tech support they still could not retrieve the biometrics and as this was supposedly a 2022 computer. Needless to say, my disappointment for this laptop can’t be described in words. In addition, when I would shut off the laptop and restart it or put it to sleep and reopen it, it would wipe out all of my data and I would start off like if it was a new computer. This was my first and last time as a HP customer and I will be sure to stand clear of any other HP products moving forward in my future. If it was possible I would have given this product a negative rating and so since it was not an option this is my actual rating for this terrible product and experience, "- 10".

The hardware seemed to be lot flimsier (inferior) comparing to the old one & this one is slower with speakers that have a weaker amplitude than my other one. Therefore, I've learned to not just look at the storage & processor when I am buying the computer. And to anyone who wants to buy this unit for work need to know that they'll need to buy ethernet adapter (for work, some clients don't want WIFI connection for some reason). It was a good price overall since I was tight on budget - but I am wondering how much more I needed to spend to get the one I am pleased with.

It didn't come with quick start instructions and the ones on the computer were hard to follow and I had to get assistance to get it working.

With the color of the keys as silver, with or without the lighted keyboard, it is very difficult for me to type. I have great difficulty seeing the letters. The keys should be a darker color.
