First set up just took plugging it into my USBC port on my laptop. Then I took some time and tested it with Teams, Meeting, and Zoom, as well as as a computer speaker and all worked great. I can also see it on my Plantronics hub so one more plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound Quality in a Portable Package [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been working from home since early 2020 and was getting tired of wearing a headset for every meeting I needed to take. With the Sync 40, I can finally take meetings with clear input/output audio and without needing to wear a headset for multiple hours in the day. The quality on both ends is fantastic and helps amplify others' voices in the meetings. The Sync 40 is also small enough to throw in a laptop bag and bring with you where ever you are working. The strong battery life also makes it so I don't have to worry about the battery dying on me mid-call. Some bonus features I was a big fan of was being able to charge my phone from the device and the Microsoft Teams integration. I would say this device is a must have for anyone who works from home and I look forward to using it from now on.

Listening to music at work is awesome now! It has such a rich sound, especially when compared to the laptop speakers!!! LOL!!! I have not used it in a meeting yet, but i have talked on the phone thru it and the sound quality is very good! I have no doubts about it working good in a meeting. I definitely recommend this Sync 40.

While the Sync 40 was a little bigger than expected, I was able to accommodate it at my smaller desk. Also clarity is exceptional for both calls with clients and music through web services. Connectivity with desktop and puffins simultaneously was seamless and efficient. Although I rarely use Teams, the button is comenten and saves time. The same for the elche button, which I used for turning on Spotify for music. Battery life was exceptional as well. Overall, excellently designed. Also liked USB 2.0 and 3.0 comedor options.

I was already impressed of the sound but when I heard my colleagues reply to me, it was simply amazing. Communication was great and seamless. Sharp, sensitive and subtle. Easy to carry with it’s flat design. The charger capability is a plus.

Clarity over Teams calls using dedicated Bluetooth dongle is very good and it makes a nice music speaker when using standard Bluetooth with my Microsoft Surface. at this time I have not had any issues with the sound when connected to PC with attached USB cable; I have let a coworker try this out and he was very impressed with the size, portability, and quality of the TEAMS calls.

I’ve previously reviewed the Poly Sync 20. While I was impressed with the 20 and it’s portability, the 40 is now permanently on my desk. It works seamlessly with with Zoom and Teams including a dedicated button just for Teams. The audio quality is outstanding. While it also has the ability to charge a mobile phone, it doesn’t have the portability of the Sync 20. I would love to try the dedicated charging stand that is available for it, but I do not have that. I have used it for both my Mac and my phone. Great device!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great desktop speaker for work and leisure [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this speaker to replace/supplement the built-in speakers and microphone in my work laptop. The sound quality is much, much better, with great audio for listening to music while I work. When I'm on MS Teams or Zoom calls, the voices are much easier to hear, and far more crisp. The microphone is light years ahead of my existing microphone, and everyone I've spoken with says it's much more clear on their end as well. The slim shape and profile make this much easier to transport than most of the similar systems as well. Plus the built-in cable means one less thing to remember and one less thing to lose.

But it has blown me away. Not only does the Speaker itself sound amazing, but the mic is great and gives a crisp sharp sound. It can get really loud too so it could do well in a large room. It’s also very nice that it’s water resistant for accidental water spills or for poolside/bath usage.

It connects easily and is easy to operate. Love the cord attached to it. My only gripe is the fact that it doesn’t stand up easier. It seems to be designed for laying down flat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for it's intended purpose! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first thought was, really, how well will this work with an open mic for a room? Would it pick up ambient noises in the room and pass it to the meeting chat. It did not; in fact, it did seem to enhance everyone’s voice making their voices seem crisper as they spoke. It does do a great job filtering out background noises and picks up voices pretty well. So if you have an echoing room, it does not make the speaker sound like he is in a tin can. The Sync 40+ worked well for teleconferencing. Whether you are a couple of feet to 5 feet away, make sure you speak up and talk towards the speaker on the table/desk. You can use either the Bluetooth dongle or go wireless or hooking it up to a computer directly through USB, the set up simple. Since it is a Microsoft-supported product, Windows already has the drivers. However, Macs will retrieve the drivers that you need. It checks to see if you already have MS Teams and if you do, then away you go! Super easy. With no raised buttons, they are surface touch buttons, which makes it easier to disinfect and clean after your meetings. So, no risk of any liquid getting inside of the device and introducing fluid into it.

Music is ok, but it pops a little when there’s a lot of bass. Pairing is super easy and using the settings with the app is just as easy. Overall a great item.

The sound quality is amazing. The voices were clear while cutting out any background noises. The Bluetooth feature made it even better since, where my laptop is located doesn't allow much room for it to be next to it. Even a couple feet away, I could hear my Doctors so clearly. This speaker is a must buy!!!

With multiple people sitting around the device, we were able to clearly hear the speaker. The microphone works perfectly, and the person on the other end of the call was able to clearly hear everyone speaking clearly. It fast charges with usb-c and lasts a full work day on a charge without issue, this was after making several 15-60 minute calls. The device is also small enough that it easily fits in front of a keyboard or monitor. It’s also great as a bluetooth Zoom device. There was no echo, and it frees up your ears to hear your surroundings. I tend to get ear fatigue, so I find myself using this for all Zoom calls and not just in conference settings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sync offers confidence. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sync 40 is worth the price. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I haven't found a environment that it hasn't worked well in yet. Even when I'm building a special piece in my shop I'm able to use the Sync without any issues. I've used it outside, inside a small area, and sitting about 6 feet away from it with complete confidence that I am heard as well as understood. I've also used the Sync as a mini speaker to stream music. The bass and ability to fill the room will surprise you. Of course it is always best to adjust your equalizer. The device is nice and sturdy, has a weight to it that helps further the quality. I personally haven't used this while using Meet, but I have used this in every other area and would recommend this for anyone looking to be able to enjoy a conversation without having to worry about your voice not carrying its impact.

If you were looking for a great standalone, conferencing system, that is quick and easy to use, plug-and-play, then the poly 20 sounds much better than the poly 40. If you need two or more quick, plug and play conferencing devices, then the poly 40 will be your best friend. Both sound amazing however, I really found the poly 20 to sound much better than the poly 40. If I had another poly 40 nearby I think it would sound much better than the poly 20 as it could be set up as stereo or independent. I like how you can link the poly 40 together with other poly 40 devices and think that it is a great solution for many applications, when you need a quick conferencing solution. The poly 40 does work very well with teams but then again, so does the poly 20.

My phone will connect and disconnect at random. I had 2 other speakerphones in the past and they worked flawlessly. My phone will literally be mid call and the Bluetooth kicks out.

Unfortunately, it is less good than using the microphone built into my laptop. Multiple meetings, on multiple different platforms, showed that the voice quality was better without the Poly turned on. When I use the poly speaker with the laptop mic, the speaker was deep and base-y and unpleasant. Overall, an entirely useless purchase which I am returning.
