One game my son was on it averages 500FPS although the monitor it was connected to couldn’t produce that. The computer could. His old computer was running at just 15 to 20 FPS on same game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EarthwormJames from Beautiful Machine I've owned this Omen for a few months now and tested it on about four relatively new games. I bought the absolute base model BTW, which I don't advise on a few small details. Be sure and upgrade to at least the first RPG backlit keyboard. I have the plain white one and it has two settings, on and off. No brightness control. No auto off when not in use. To make matters worse it's very bright under the keys when viewed at an angle. Say you are on the couch, the light with be blinding if not at a perfect typing angle. Also be sure and get the 6E wifi card and not the 6. Reason being 6E is does everything the 6 does but it also future proof. 6E is much faster but most people can't access it yet. But that will likely change in a few years. So for an extra $20 on the keyboard and $10 on the wifi card you get a considerable upgrade. While I'm complaining, the edges in the front around the touchpad area are too sharp. Luckily palm or wrist pads are like $13 online and can solve that problem. Should it bother you as it does me. So that's it for the complaints. The good news is this sucker runs games like you would expect. My base model runs games on relatively high settings pretty well. Screen looks great, though I would recommend an G-SYNC capable external monitor via the mini display port for home use. Man do games really shine like that. I would further recommend staying under a 24 inch screen and at 1080p. As I just don't think this sucker is powerful enough for 4K gaming. But I am so happy on a 24 inch at 1080p with settings up high. A word on sound. Just excellent speakers. My point of comparison is my old 2019 Pavilion Gaming Laptop, which had speakers that also impressed. This Omen wastes my Pavilion. I rarely turn them all the way up. These suckers are loud and crisp. 10 out of 10 on the speakers. The feel of this laptop is quality but heavy. Not too backpack friendly. But feels very sturdy. Fan can get very loud on graphics intensive gaming sessions. So I quickly switched to earbuds in that case. But it does seem to cool very well. Touchpad feels very sensitive and is huge. Love it. Overall very happy with laptop.

For many years I have purchased from another manufacturer and when my last two laptops were junk and had many problems, I decided to move on and order from HP. I configured the laptop to my specs and it arrived as expected in a very short time as it seemed like it was shipped from China. Where my disappointment comes in is the laptop is a little slower than my old laptop. This laptop has 16GB of memory as did my old one, and a 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz where my old one was an i5 CPU. I have some games I play where the screen tears. I am using the Nvidia graphics card, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 Laptop GPU (6 GB), so I know it isn't the graphics card. Another problem is the laptop case. The edges and the corners are extremely sharp to the point where it digs into my wrists and arms. The last issue is the backlight on the keyboard. The brightness is excessive. I'm afraid that aircraft will see it and use it as landing lights, it's so bright. And I have tried everything to find a way to turn it down. I don't want to turn it off because in a dark room I need to see the keyboard and that is the only way to do that. It is so sad that this laptop isn't what I expected.

Still getting used to windows 11. So far have tested out Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop on it. It tackled the job without a flinch. Battery life is a lifetime above my old HP Omen.
