I didn’t like the idea of pouring in the ink but I love the outcome of the printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by ASly from A solid choice for low cost/high volume printing I was provided this printer free of charge in exchange for a review. All thoughts are of my own. The HP Smart Tank 5101 All in One Printer is an incredible value in a few ways. Taking it out of the box I was pleased it was fairly compact without sacrificing options. It is sleek in design and I loved that it is made from recycled printers. Initially filling the ink tanks was easy and mess free! I put down a table protector just in case, but it was a seamless and clean process. The tanks hold a lot of ink for high volume printing. The ink level indicators are located on the front for high visibility of when your ink is low. It is perfect for my small business when printing out labels and order sheets. My kids are using it for coloring pages and homework research. Using the HP Smart app walked me through every step of the way to set it up on my Wi-Fi using my IPhone. The app disconnected a few times when selecting settings I preferred versus their recommended settings. I was able to pick up where it left off to finish the setup. Putting in the printer heads was the only real trouble I had. The printer does not open from the top. You have to reach in through the front panel to install them. Anyone with big hands will certainly have a problem with that step. Actual printing was a breeze! My phone used Bluetooth to connect. After aligning the heads once, it printed out perfect colored and black and white pages. The control panel is very simple and easy to navigate. (There’s not a bunch of buttons that you have no idea what they do.) The scanner made clear copies with an option of borderless prints. The HP Smart Tank 5101 really is an all in one. Print, copy, and scan all wirelessly from your computer or phone makes it very easy for adults and even kids to get their work done. The fact that right out of the box you can expect 2 years of prints from the included HP ink bottles is amazing. That’s what really appealed to me. No more dried up and expensive inkjet cartridges every month. It’s a connected and compact machine with all the important features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by capenova from Easy set up and printing overall I was sent a free sample of this printer to review. I found the set up to be quick and easy overall. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. Filling the ink was extremely simple, and I’m looking forward to (hopefully) be able to buy ink less frequently and reduce my plastic waste. I haven’t had any issues with printing or scanning since I received it. The mobile printing has been my favorite. It’s been a great replacement for my previous printer!

The HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer can be installed via USB direct connection to the PC. Installing the Smart App on your phone and using that to install the printer is the easier, quicker way, however.

Mobile Fax is where you can send faxes through the HP Smart app on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. If you need to send or receive faxes, you can use a service like eFax.
