Great printer expensive ink
We love our HP Printer - the pagewide pro. Have owned it for many years!! We went through printers in the past. This was a large investment at the time but it sure has worked well. The ink is too expensive and we have problems with HP tying the cartridges to printer software updates. So you're tempted to turn off software updates otherwise they could render new print cartridges as trash. The ink cartridges do not go bad. It's a terrible system where HP greatly relies on profits generated by the ink which significantly increases the overall cost of ownership for the printer owner.

HP 972X High Yield Black Original
When a cartridge in my printer is low on ink , I start watching the level closely. I try to order a new cartridge before completely empty as it takes a few days to get through customs once it has shipped. My longest wait was about ten days , but typical is 5-7 days. We only print occasionally now. but got the printer mainly for making a weekly handbook for a study group I taught for about six years. The printer has been a great tool for us in our previous business and we continue to use it at home.

Copy bleeding Cyan on copies
I ordered the new cartridge because I was getting bleeding from the cartridges on my printer which ruined the copies. It is cleaned and fixed for a while but comes back. It is an older machine so we will see what the problem is by trial and error.

HP's tech department is genius for sending an update to reject ink cartridges made before a certain date to prevent third parties from refilling them. I had an official HP ink cartridge ordered from the HP WEBSITE that was rejected by my printer simply for sitting on the shelf as a back-up. I bet they didn't think about businesses that order a surplus and keep them in storage as back-up. So now I have a $150 full and useless cartridge because HP just can't help themselves. I will NEVER order or replace a printer/computer/any HP product again.

I can't find the SDS for the toners for this printer on the HP website. (Cayan L0R98AN , Magenta L0S01AN, Black F6T84AN and Yellow L0S04AN) HP 972x

Can these cartridges be refilled for a cheaper cost? Or do you need to buy new each time you need to replace?
HP recommends using genuine HP toner and ink cartridges. Refills are not recommended.
