Automatic ACE Alerts
HP hiring managers using the Hiring Management System (Taleo) have the option to receive automatic e-mail alerts when top candidates apply to their requisition. The top candidates are defined by their ability to score, at or above, a certain percentage on their responses to the pre-screen questions. The hiring manager determines the minimum score for their ACE alert notifications.

Candidate Profiler - Your Profile
A candidate record in the Hiring Management System (Taleo) where a candidate stores general information about themselves, e.g., contact information, which geographies and job categories they are interested in, education level, minimum salary requirements, a cover letter and Curriculum Vitae (CV)/resume, etc. Staffing professionals can search the candidate database and notify candidates with relevant profiles to apply to specific openings.

Candidate Short List
A list of internal and external candidates who applied to a specific requisition and received a high ranking based on their response to pre-screen questions. Both the hiring manager and the staffing professional will be able to access the candidate records from this list.

Dispatcher
A member of the staffing team who distributes the newly approved requisitions to the appropriate staffing professional using the Hiring Management System (Taleo).

External Candidate
Candidate who is not currently on the HP payroll.

Source Name/Type
A value used in the the Hiring Management System (Taleo) database to identify the recruiting source that motivated the candidate to apply. The candidate may have heard about hp through newspapers, television, the Internet, or through written documentation as in the WFM @ hp.)

Hiring Management System (Taleo)
A web-enabled global staffing platform used by staffing professionals, external and internal candidates and hiring managers. Based on the role played in the recruitment process, individuals have various levels of access and permissions to perform certain functions. For example, a recruiter can create and extend offers, a hiring manager cannot. A recruiter can place a requisition on hold while a hiring manager can only edit a requisition prior to full approval.

Internal Candidate
A candidate that is on HP payroll.

Recruiting
The activity of managing active candidates through the hiring process from screening to acceptance, while ensuring a quality candidate experience.

Requisition - Job Requisition, Staffing Requisition
A formal request by a business to open a position in the company. Generally, a requisition will include the title of the position, a job description of the role and responsibilities, the required knowledge, skills and abilities, pay grade, appropriate approvals and any other information that is pertinent to the performance of the job (e.g., location, travel, etc.)

Sourcing
The activity of prospecting passive & active candidates to be pursued for employment opportunities. Sourcing is building and maintaining a pipeline of screened, quality candidates. The sourcing activity integrates with the recruiting activity in creating the talent supply strategy (optimal sourcing mix) for the staffing plan.

Staffing Professional
A generic term for a role that might be performed by persons with job titles such as recruiter, workforce consultant, staffing consultant, staffing specialist, staffing manager, talent acquisition representative, talent acquisition administrative assistant, business HR, HR Services case workers, HR Operations Rep, HR Generalists, HR Managers, College relations or even a third-party vendor. Assignment of sourcing, screening, recruiting, staffing admin, staffing consulting responsibilities will vary with geography and business.

Workforce Reorganization
Term used to describe business reorganizations and associated workforce movement. Realignment and Redeployment are examples of “sub-programs” under Reorganization.

Workforce Reduction
Involuntary workforce reduction approach used by businesses and functions.
