HP Enhances Software to Help Telecoms Transform Operations and Improve Customer Experience

Announces new wins in Brazil, Italy and Pakistan

NICE, France -- HP todayannounced a broad set of telecom solutions designed to help serviceproviders transform network operations to reduce complexity, lowercosts and deliver a better customer experience.

At Management World, HP also announced three communications serviceproviders (CSPs) that have recently selected solutions from theHP Next Generation Operations Support Systems (HP NGOSS)portfolio.

HP NGOSS software solutions provide CSPs with the advanced, highlyautomated OSS environment they need to complete a successfulbusiness transformation. With more automation, CSPs can streamlinethe two functional segments in OSS – fulfillment andassurance.  

By improving the way services are ordered, provisioned andactivated, and the way they are managed to meet customerexpectations, CSPs can reduce costs and complexity, and ultimately,improve the customer experience.

With the expanded portfolio, HP now provides CSPs with a singlesource for both fulfillment and assurance, enabling them totransform their OSS environments more quickly andcost-effectively.

Customers transform business with HP NGOSS

Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL), a provider offixed voice and data services, worked with HP and Huawei toconsolidate operations into a central network operations center andthree regional centers. Huawei provided a turnkey solution usingall HP products for fault management, trouble ticketing andperformance management. Solutions included: HP TeMIP, HP ServiceActivator, HP Performance Insight, HP Network Node Manager and HPService Desk.

Wind, Italy’s second largest CSP, deployed HP Operations Managerand HP Network Node Manager to transform the customer experience.With a map display showing problem areas, Wind call center agentscan speed resolution and activate an automatic call to assurecustomers their problem is being resolved.

Vivo, Brazil’s largest mobile operator, deployed HP UnifiedCorrelation Analyzer and upgraded HP TeMIP fault management. With acomplete assurance solution for its multiple networks, Vivo canidentify and resolve problems more quickly, thus enhancing thecustomer experience and reducing outage costs.

HP builds NGOSS portfolio for new era

The new solutions in the HP NGOSS portfolio fall into threecategories: managing the customer experience; consolidatinginternal silos and reducing costs; and, converging telecom, IT andIP (Internet Protocol) networks.

The new solutions in the HP NGOSS portfolio are: HP UniversalSLA Manager, HP Problem Management, HP UnifiedTopology Manager and HP Performance Management. Thesesolutions are complemented by enhancements to the core fulfillmentand assurance portfolio.

Additionally, Erwan Menard, vice president and general manager,Communications and Media Solutions, HP, was named by the TM Forumto its board of directors.
