HP to Deliver New Solutions for Midsize Customers Installing J.D. Edwards 5 Software

HP ProLiant Servers with Microsoft SQL Server Software Deliver Reliable, Secure Technology for J.D. Edwards Customers
DENVER, JUNE 10, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced the first J.D. Edwards (Nasdaq:JDEC) pre-configured solution on HP servers with Microsoft® SQL Server Database for midsize customers using J.D. Edwards 5 software. Called Customer Choice, the new technology solution is configured on industry-standard HP ProLiant servers running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database server software to deliver enterprise-class performance to midsize customers.

J.D. Edwards Customer Choice on HP ProLiant servers is designed for customers with five to 150 concurrent users deploying J.D. Edwards 5 software solutions. These solutions are designed to help customers improve their collaborative enterprise business processes or migrate their J.D. Edwards solution from legacy proprietary systems to open systems software.

"HP and our partners are helping customers get more for their IT investment by delivering complete, integrated solutions based on industry-standard systems. These systems use solutions leveraging J.D. Edwards' vertical market expertise to reduce total cost of ownership and offer a robust, secure and scalable environment to support mission-critical applications for growing businesses," said Robyn West, vice president of small and medium business, Americas, HP Personal Systems Group. "Currently, 60 percent of J.D. Edwards' Intel customers choose industry-standard HP ProLiant servers to deliver more efficiency and productivity to their business."

The new Customer Choice solution was announced today during J.D. Edwards' annual user group conference - Quest Global - in Denver, held June 9-12. The new bundle is planned for availability in August on HP ProLiant DL580 and DL380 servers with Microsoft SQL Server software and later in the year with IBM DB2 UDB.

"With HP's Customer Choice for J.D. Edwards running on HP ProLiant servers, businesses can quickly implement a solution that enables them to be more responsive to their own customers and partners," said Les Wyatt, chief marketing officer, J.D. Edwards. "Together, HP and J.D. Edwards have more than 1,100 joint accounts and the HP ProLiant Customer Choice solution will offer our customers a proven, easily deployed and agile solution for their growing business."

HP operates several J.D. Edwards Solutions Centers located in Denver, Houston and Cupertino, Calif. These centers are the proving ground for J.D. Edwards and HP solutions where engineers assist customers with planning and installing fully optimized applications.
