HP and World Wide Retail Exchange Open Web-based "OneStop IT Shop" Site

WWRE members to receive discounts, faster access to HP technology
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 7, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) and the World Wide Retail Exchange (WWRE), the premier Internet-based business-to-business exchange for retailers and suppliers, today announced the launch of a new Web-based information technology procurement site called the "OneStop IT Shop."

The OneStop IT Shop is a custom, global, online catalog that allows WWRE members to order HP branded technology, including industry-standard HP ProLiant servers, monitors, and desktop and notebook PCs. Members can place orders through the exchange's hosted procurement solution or directly to HP.

WWRE members, which include some of the largest retail and manufacturing companies in the world, receive preferred discounts on HP technology ordered through the Web site to serve their internal IT needs.

"In today's tough economic climate, e-business is the most efficient way to do business. By purchasing IT equipment through the OneStop IT Shop, retailers can benefit from a streamlined supply chain and lower processing and purchasing costs," said Marius Haas, vice president of worldwide e-business, HP. "These benefits provide the WWRE member with more efficient and cost-effective management of their IT needs."

"Partnering with a market leader like HP demonstrates our commitment to helping our members and the retail industry on the whole improve access to some of the most trusted technology in the marketplace," said Cathy Rutherford, director of sourcing, WWRE. "The OneStop IT Shop platform also demonstrates that HP shares this goal of continually uncovering ways to bring innovation to the retail industry."

"The launch of the OneStop IT Shop, with its breadth of IT products and services in one catalog, is another way HP is helping retailers increase the efficiency of their operations and lower the cost of procurement" said Leigh Morrison, vice president, U.S. Retail Industry Sales and Solutions, HP Enterprise Systems Group. "HP is committed to delivering solutions that meet retailers' most pressing needs, from the largest enterprises in the world, to small and medium sized businesses, just around the block.
