HP Showcases New Compaq Tablet PC, Digital Imaging and Computing Products at REALTORS Conference and Expo

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 8, 2002

HP (NYSE:HPQ) is showcasing several new productivity-enhancing personal computing and digital imaging products for real estate professionals at the REALTORS® Conference and Expo through Nov. 11. Visitors to HP's booth, No. 547, can see live presentations of some of the company's latest products, including mobile computing solutions, handheld PCs, digital photography and imaging products, 802.11b wireless LAN products and in-house publishing software designed especially for the real estate industry.

At the conference, attendees can receive demonstrations of the new Compaq Tablet PC from HP. Comparable in size to a pad of paper, the device is a fully compatible Windows® XP PC that allows users to write directly on the screen. With this innovation, common business tasks are made more efficient -- such as taking handwritten notes in a meeting for later reference or conversion to text; annotating documents or presentations using digital ink; or easily reading electronic magazines or books.

Mobile Solutions for Realtors On-the-go

John L. Scott is currently participating in a program with HP, Starbucks and T-Mobile USA to access the new T-Mobile HotSpotSM service in Starbucks locations in the Pacific Northwest and analyze the benefits of the service for mobile employees. T-Mobile HotSpot service provides standards-based Wi-Fi, or 802.11b, wireless broadband Internet access at a T1-speed connection for customers with wireless-enabled notebooks or PDAs. All of John L. Scott's company-owned branch offices currently have access to wireless technology.

At T-1 speeds fast enough to accommodate a full spectrum of applications, Realtors can use the service to check e-mail, access the multiple listing service and download streaming video of properties using high-speed wireless Internet service in the comfort and convenience of Starbucks.

HP Digital Imaging and Printing Solutions

HP also is showcasing several new printing and digital imaging products at the conference, including the HP Deskjet 450 mobile printer, the HP Photosmart 7150, 7350 and 7550 photo printers and the HP Photosmart 320, 620 720 and 850 digital cameras.

The HP Deskjet 450 mobile printer is a complete "mobile office" printing solution for on-the-go professionals. Weighing approximately 4.5 pounds, the HP Deskjet 450 -- with an optional lithium-ion battery -- prints up to 350 pages per charge, and supports printing from notebooks, desktop PCs, PDAs, digital cameras and mobile phones. The HP Deskjet 450 mobile printer is available in the United States and Canada, with estimated U.S. street prices starting at $299.(1)

The HP Photosmart printers feature Photoret IV print technology that, when used in conjunction with HP's enhanced Premium Plus Photo papers, gives consumers prints that exceed both the photo quality and image permanence of traditionally processed photographs. HP Photosmart printers are available in the United States and Canada, with estimated U.S. street prices starting at $179.(1)

The HP Photosmart digital cameras enable users to easily choose where photos will be sent or printed. All four digital cameras feature HP Instant Share technology and are compatible with the optional HP Photosmart 8881 digital camera dock, which allows users to easily connect to a PC, TV or printer while recharging batteries. HP Photosmart digital cameras are available in the United States and Canada, with estimated U.S. street prices starting at $149.(1)

At the conference, industry technology expert Dave Beson will be demonstrating the Compaq Tablet PC as well as the HP Real Estate Flyer Creation system which includes new HP Real Estate Document Assistant 2 software. The system allows agents to produce high-quality marketing materials with a minimum of effort and very low cost. HP Real Estate Document Assistant software is available in the United States at an estimated street price of $99.(1)

New High-resolution HP iPAQ Pocket PC

HP's newest handheld PCs, including the new HP iPAQ 3900 series, also will be on display at the conference. Featuring Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 operating system, the iPAQ 3900 series includes a 400-MHz Intel® X-Scale processor and a brilliant transflective TFT display with 240x320 resolution and 65K colors as well as integrated Bluetooth wireless capabilities. HP also will be demonstrating Pocket Real Estate's mobile MLS application for the Pocket PC.

The HP iPAQ Pocket PC H3950 with 400-MHz Intel PXA250 processor and 64 MB RAM/32 MB ROM is available in the United States and Canada, with an estimated U.S. street prices starting at $599.(1)
