HP Creates Spanish Language Online Consumer Support Community

As part of its efforts tooffer consumers an unparalleled technical support experience, HPtoday announced new and updated programs designed to helpSpanish-speaking consumers get answers to questions quickly andeffectively online.

  • A new Spanish language peer-to-peer online support forumallows members to connect with one another to exchange insights andtips and to get answers to each other’s questions regarding theirHP consumer products.
  • The updated HP CustomerCare website makes it easier for more than 20 million monthlyvisitors to find the information they need to solve issues.

The new and updatedprograms reflect changes in how HP customers are sharinginformation and communicating online. According to ForresterResearch, more than 75 percent of online Hispanic adults take partin online social media.(1)

“These programs represent agrowing evolution in consumer support,” said Jodi Schilling, vicepresident, Americas Customer Support, HP. “Providing a way forSpanish-speaking customers to assist each other through a communityand get better support online helps us achieve our goal ofimproving customer satisfaction worldwide.”

Leading these onlinesupport programs is the newly designed consumer support forum whereSpanish-speaking community members can share ideas, ask questionsand help other members find solutions. The forum is divided intodifferent categories based on broad topics such as operatingsystems or wireless networking for notebooks.

Community members canpersonalize their HP experiences by tagging or bookmarking keyboards, threads and messages, or by adding RSS feeds to keep trackof new posts on key topics.

Since its launchin November 2008, the English language version of the HP consumersupport forum has had more than 17 million page views, 28,000registered users, 42,000 posts and recorded more than 1.25 millionsearches.

HP plans to add additionalcomponents to the consumer support forum over the next severalmonths, including online seminars with moderated questions andanswers. HP will be monitoring the forum to help identify commonsupport issues and gain customer feedback and insights. Ifcustomers can’t find solutions to their problems, assistance isavailable directly from HP. The HP consumer support forum is alsoavailable worldwide in English and will be rolling out inadditional languages in the future.

The Spanish language HPCustomer Care site has been revised and updated to make it easierfor consumers to locate and download product drivers or findadditional information about HP products. The global HP CustomerCare site has more than 20 million unique visitor sessions permonth and the updates were rolled out worldwide in more than 22languages.
