Netherlands’ Telfort Selects EDS, an HP Company, to Help Grow Its Business with Increased Technology Efficiency

EDS, an HP company, todayannounced that Telfort, a mobile telecommunications company in theNetherlands offering both mobile and fixed line telecommunicationservices (Internet and VoIP), has signed a five-year technologyinfrastructure and applications services agreement to help Telefortgrow its business while improving quality and reducing operationalcosts.

Under the terms of theagreement, EDS will manage the development and operation ofTelfort’s applications and infrastructure, amongst others toprovide the company with improved agility and cost performance. AsTelfort’s service integrator, EDS also will act as a single pointof contact.

“In order for Telfort togrow our business in the low-cost wireless segment, it is necessaryto adopt a cost leadership strategy and become more efficient,”said Marco Visser, chief executive officer at Telfort BV. “Bypartnering with EDS, we will be able to streamline our organizationfor efficiency, providing us the opportunity to focus on new areasfor growth.”

EDS will provide applicationsmanagement services for Telfort’s critical business softwareapplications, including new customer care and billing solutionsfocused on enhancing the customer experience. EDS also will managethe underlying infrastructure, including the networkand data center, and provide service management and service deskservices.
