Microsoft has renamed the Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) to Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) to more accurately communicate its value. This announcement is accompanied by a newly expanded EMS E5 plan. This name change reflects the tremendous new security value in this offering. Aligned with the new packaging, there will be an Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 and an Enterprise Mobility and Security E5. The new E5 offering will become available later this calendar year and will include advanced security capabilities.
As a comprehensive cloud solution, Enterprise Mobility + Security addresses customers’ challenges with regard to the increasing mobility of employees, a growing number of different mobile devices (also connected to "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) scenarios) and the manageability of a variety of new software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
AAD Premium, Microsoft Intune, ARM and ATA can be purchased individually as stand-alone products. However, by bundling all four services together under the Enterprise Mobility + Security offering umbrella, Microsoft is providing customers with the option to avail of a truly robust and secure mobility solution with mobile device management.
The existing Enterprise Mobility Suite becomes Enterprise Mobility + Security E3, with no change for existing EMS customers.
A newly expanded plan will be generally available in Q4 2016 and known as Enterprise Mobility + Security E5.
