Consumer Product Take Back Service Terms and Conditions

Applicable conditions:

Customers who purchase regulated consumer products as specified in the Resource Sustainability (Prescribed Regulated Products) Regulations 2019 (including printers with weights of 20kg or less, consumer computers, desktop monitors, and portable batteries) (“New Products”), can request free Take Back Service (the “Service”) for products of the same class or type (and in the same quantity as) the products supplied (only applicable to the same types of regulated consumer products Note 1) (“Old Products”). The Service will be provided by HP’s logistics partner.

When and How to make a request:

(a)When a customer confirms that they need the Service upon ordering New Products.
(b)The customer requests the Service by emailing the HP Online customer service mailbox at hpstoresingapore@customerservice.team within 5 working days (i.e. any day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or gazetted public holiday in Singapore) after the orders for New Products have been delivered to arrange for collection of the relevant Old Products.

Timing of the Take Back Service:

(a)Collection of Old Products will take place within 5 working days from the date on which the HP Online customer service team receives the customer’s order requesting the Service. Collection will take place on weekdays (excluding gazetted Singapore public holidays) between 9am and 5pm.
(b)The date of delivery and installation for the New Products will be different from the date of the collection of the Old Products. Notwithstanding clause (a) above, collection will in any event only take place after the New Products ordered have been delivered. Delays to the delivery of New Products may therefore result in a delay to collection of the relevant Old Products.
(c)The Old Products to be collected from the customer’s designated location will be removed at a date and time agreed between the customer and HP’s logistics partner.

Remarks:

(a)The Old Products will not be returned once collected, and title to the Old Products will pass to HP’s logistics partner upon collection.
(b)The Old Products must stand alone and be free from connections or obstacles prior to their collection. Accessories (such as batteries, cables, adapters, remote controls, keyboards, mice, etc.) belonging to or associated with the Old Products may be included for collection under the Service.
(d) If the Old Products have serious hygiene issues (e.g. rancid foods, presence of cockroaches and ants, etc.), HP and/or its logistics partner will have the right not to collect and remove such items, and the customer will no longer be entitled to the Service in respect of the said Old Products.
(e) In the event that the customer wishes to change the date, time, and/or place for the collection of the Old Products, the customer shall notify HP at least 2 working days before the originally scheduled collection date. Any requests to change the date, time, and/or place for the collection of the Old Products is subject to the agreement of HP and/or HP’s logistics partner (as the case may be).
(f) HP shall not be liable for any delay, suspension, or rescheduling of the collection of the Old Products due to traffic, adverse weather conditions, or other factors.
(g) Subject to clause (h) below, all personal data provided to HP in connection with the Service shall be used for the purposes of arranging collection of Old Products under the Service, and HP will comply with its obligations under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (No. 26 of 2012).
(h) The customer is responsible for the deletion of any and all confidential and/or proprietary data (including, but not limited to, personal data and customer data) that is contained on or within the Old Products before such products are collected from the customer. The customer acknowledges and agrees that neither HP nor its logistics partner will be liable or held responsible in any way for any such confidential and/or proprietary data that is not deleted or otherwise removed from the Old Products.
(i) In the event of any dispute arising out of or in relation to these terms or the Service, HP’s decision shall be final.
(j) The customer may only request collection under the Service for Old Products of the same type and quantity as the relevant New Products purchased.

Note 1:

  • Computers - generally includes personal computers, desktop computers, tablet computers, laptop computers, and notebook computers, but does not include computers that have a built-in smart card reader or are thin client computers.
  • Printers - not exceeding 20kg in weight. Includes printers (such as multi-function printers) that can also be used as photocopiers, facsimile transmitters, or scanners.
  • Desktop Monitors – Does not include monitors which have functionalities allowing them to store electronic data or perform computing functions, monitors including an interactive display panel or interactive whiteboard, or reference display monitors designed for a specialised industrial purposes.
  • Portable Battery - generally all removable batteries, but not including industrial batteries.
