HP Announces Industry’s First Real-time Application Security Analysis Solution

Delivering application security intelligence to advance risk management

ASIA PACIFIC, April 14, 2011 – HP todayannounced the first application security analysis solution thatdiscovers the root cause of software vulnerabilities by observingattacks in real-time.

HPFortify Real-Time Hybrid Analysis, used in concert with the new HP Fortify 360 v3.0andHP Application Security Center9.0, helpsorganizations proactively reduce business risk and protect againstmalicious software attacks.

Arecent study of more than 150 organizations conductedby Aberdeen Group(1) found that the average total costto remediate a single application security incident isapproximately $300,000. As security incidents can happen at anypoint in the application life cycle, modernization initiatives canprove especially costly if they are not proactively secured fromdevelopment to operations.

Enterprises using the new HP offerings can deliver the applicationsecurity intelligence required to effectively manage risk acrossthe life cycle. By taking a pragmatic approach that securesapplications from development to operations, organizations candevelop a scalable, repeatable and cost-effective securityassurance program to further reduce risk.

"Thetraditional approach of single-point security solutions helpssecure parts of a business, but limits enterprises from makinginformed decisions," said Joseph Feiman, vice president and fellow,Gartner. "To make optimal security and risk management decisions, enterprises must move from technological security silos toenterprise security intelligence. This can be achieved through theinteraction of different technologies as well as contextualanalyses of integrated security and business information."
