HP enables channel partners to compete more effectively in imaging and printing market
Together with HP's announcement on its strategy for the Enterprise market, HP is announcing several enhancements to its Imaging & Printing program for qualified partners with focus on Imaging and Printing products, services, and solutions. The Imaging & Printing program is going to be enhanced in FY10 with a focus on the mid-market and a focus on solutions.

  • Mid-Market Focus:
With the announcement of the Enterprise market focus, HP relies on its channel partners to develop their Mid-Market business. The Mid-Market program provides partners with the programmatic infrastructure. The program is based on joint mid-market business planning and sales target setting between the partner and his HP partner sales specialist. It consists of tools to generate leads for the partner, to qualify, develop and to close deals, which are either transactional or contractual. HP supports the partner in the sales process to mid-market accounts by its sales force and Siebel-based pipeline management.
  • The Solution Focus:
Today's portfolio of contractual offerings which includes Channel-led Pay-per-Usage program (CLPPU), Smart Printing Service (SPS) program and Pay-for-Print (PfP) program will be completed by the launch of the Quick Page solution.
With the introduction of HP Quick Page, HP will make it even easier for its partners to develop into value selling and respond the market demand for contractual engagements.
  • New Software Solutions Program
HP has one of the leading partner accreditation and certification programs in the industry, investing heavily in ensuring third-party solutions developed by ISV partners, integrate efficiently and easily into the user's environment. HP will offer training and product sourcing for select ISV solutions from HP's Solutions Business Partner Program.
This program will initially focus on document capture and workflow and on imaging and printing security and job accounting solutions.
  • HP EMEA offers include:
  1. HP Access Control
  2. Capella FormPort Suite
  3. Other solutions that will be announced with the start of the program

The go-to-market process for these solutions will be two-fold:

  • In the certified channel model, the partner, qualified as Solution Channel partner, can order the software directly from HP. Such partners are trained and certified by HP for sales and technical certifications. They provide an end-to-end service provision, including sales of software and hardware, 1st - and 2nd- level pre- and post-sales support. HP support to the Solution Channel partner includes compensation and co-marketing funding for achievement of specific solution sales goals in addition training and to certification.
  • The alternative go-to-market process is based on the Printing Service Model which includes the integration of a System Integrator, trained and certified by HP. The System Integrator acts as a sub-contractor to the partner who continues to own the account and sell hardware and supplies to complement the solution.
