Rated 3 out of 5 by Adil Hasan from Nice but not compatible with older macs While I'm very happy with the printer and the overall printing quality, I haven't been able to use the HP smart printer app. I have 2 macbooks and 1 imac, all running on the Sierra OS platform, and the app doesn't work on it. My devices are old, and wont take the new upgrade with getting slow.

Printing speed is great and I will recommend this printer if at all anyone asks for suggestions. One thing that HP could have done better is to add a tray to hold large bundle of paper and also a tray to hold the printed sheets and prevent them from falling down

Rated 4 out of 5 by Benjy from Good printer with some issues on Ubuntu I've always used HP printers at work since about 21 years so when I was ready to buy one for home I opted for an HP. As a sysadmin, network printers are close to my heart and having a MF printer with a copy mode is great for emergency photocopying. However on this printer I had some issues on Ubuntu 20.04. Ubuntu seems to use some kind of driverless install. Previously, hplip always managed to install the printer. This time it could not only not find it but neither could the driver downloaded from HP manage to set it up. I managed to locate the PPD file and get it printing but scanning completes with an unable to scan error message which cannot be resolved which is a bit of a disappointment. Luckily for emergency scanning I can use the HP Android app, but I wish the scanning problem would be resolved. Otherwise a great printer by itself. Typical HP build quality, but not as sturdy as their old printers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pradeep RS from Good compact B&W Printer Good compact B&W Printer - I would have preferred a color laser printer but all the smaller models have been discontinued and hence I bought this one. It is an excellent pribter - produces good quality output and has great connectivity (wireless as well as LAN, apart from USB). The scanner is only 300dpi - good for documents but not for pictures. The primary reason for buying a laser printer is because I do not print too much - just a few pages once in a while, and sometimes those pri touts are urgent. Going to the nearby shop for printing is a pain when it is a few pages. And after going through a couple of inkjets that have dried out, and the catridges availability became a problem and seeing the wasted ink rhat got expensive, this laser has been the answer - cost effective, and quality document printouts for low volume usage!!
