my num lock key and scroll lock key lights are on and the keyboard is locked. the lcokkey can eb turned on and off, however none of the keys still work. Can someone advise how this can be fixed?

I have a HP 235 keyboard and mouse. Unfortunately the function keys are different to my previous keyboard (also HP). How do I set up the keyboard so the new function keys work - (specially the volume keys)
