Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty touch pad and old battery Refurbished means repaired and 'as new'. I have no issues buying refurbished. It's smart money! But this laptop was faulty from the start. The touch pad had a 'deadzone' right in the centre. I updated windows, the driver's, everything I could to get it working (who wants the hassle of returning a product eh?). Nope. Hardware issue not software. So during the process of updating the drivers the HP Assistant (useful feature) informed me that the battery needed calibration. This was a bit of a process but if you follow the instructions it is straightforward. On completion I could see that the 51WHr battery could only charge to 42WHr. It's 100% capacity was actually only 83% of what it should be. I'd expect this of a battery I'd used for a couple of years, not a new battery! Disappointed with HP. However their customer service has been good and I've returned the laptop awaiting a 'New' replacement. Fingers crossed it works fine.
