The King’s School and Tudor House School Choose HP Notebook PCs
A total of 225 HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook PCs will be deployed immediately; 200 at The King’s School and 25 at Tudor House School, along with 150 HP Docking Stations for classroom and office areas.
The King’s School and Tudor House School were looking to replace their staffs’ ageing notebook PC fleet. With over 200 teaching staff at both locations, a notebook PC that was easy to use and could handle the wear and tear of a busy school environment was essential.
“We pride ourselves on having a rigorous benchmark testing process and a thorough competitive analysis,” said Michael Eggenhuizen, Director ICT, The King’s School and Tudor House School. “Our number one criterion is to have a product that meets our high standards. The HP EliteBook 6930p consistently ranked number one in our tests. We are confident that its excellent performance and lightweight, yet solid, form factor will meet the needs of our staff, who are constantly on the go.”
The HP EliteBook 6930p has a starting weight of only 2.2kg and a 14.1” widescreen display, enabling on-the-move productivity ideal for school environments. It also meets the military standard MIL-STD 810F for vibration, dust, humidity, altitude and high temperatures. The HP EliteBook 6930p comes with the HP DuraCase design inspired by aircraft construction. The display enclosure utilises a honey-comb patterned magnesium shell that is thermally bonded to aluminium for supreme durability.
“Our second criterion is to have a strong, well-built docking station that marries well with our staff notebook PCs,” said Eggenhuizen. “A ‘hot dock’ docking device is a must-have in the 21st century classroom. The HP Docking Stations being installed in our schools were the most robust option; providing power, port replication and cable management in a space saving design.”
“HP is committed to providing high quality products to the education sector and we look forward to helping both schools roll-out their new notebook PCs,” said Janice Cox, Vice President and General Manager, HP Personal Systems Group, South Pacific. “We understand that functionality, as well as quality and durability, are important for teachers and this is a great example of how HP works together with schools to meet their needs in both the short and long-term.”
The HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook PC purchased by The King’s School and Tudor House School comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06GHz processor; 6MB L2 cache; 4GB 800MHz memory; 320GB (7200 RPM) HDD; 2MP Webcam; dual-layer DVD writer; 14.1”widescreen LCD (1440 x 900); 1066MHz FSB; SD card reader; 256MB graphics; HP DuraCase magnesium shell and HP DuraFinish aluminium surface.
Each HP EliteBook 6930p will come with an HP Executive Leather Case, helping staff to store their notebook, mobile phone, media devices and other accessories knowing that everything is easily accessible and safe from damage.
