In HP Systems Insight Manager, Version Control software has one of the following status types:
Current. All components on the system match the repository.
Minor. At least one of the components on the system can be updated, but none of the updates are major.
Major. At least one of the components on the system requires an update that is deemed major. Other components might require minor updates.
Unknown. Although communicating with the Version Control Agent, the Version Control Agent is not configured to point to a Version Control Repository Manager.
Informational. The software is unable to communicate with the Version Control Agent for some reason.
Reasons for Unknown Status There can be many reasons that a software status is Unknown. The tool tip for each Unknown status reflects the reason it is Unknown for that particular system. Reasons include: The Version Control Agent is not installed on the system. A trust relationship issue exists. Software Version Status Polling has not run on that system.
