Configure Discovery Filters to customize the way system types are added to the database during Discovery.
To configure Discovery Filters:
Select Options DiscoveryAutomatic Discovery and click
discovery filters
in the Discovery configuration section. On the Automatic Discovery - Filters page, select the Enable Discovery Filters checkbox to enable Discovery Filters.
In the Discover the following system types: section, select the type of systems to be discovered. Refer to Discovery - System Types for more detailed information on each of the system types listed. (Optional) Limit Discovery to systems that meet the following criteria:
Any system that matches the above filter
All manageable systems (WBEM, SNMP, DMI or HTTP support)
Manageable systems with HP agents only (SNMP, DMI or HTTP support)
Note: You may select both of the above options, but, if you do so, Manageable systems with HP agents only takes precedence.
Click [OK] to save the settings. If you click [OK] when Discovery Filters are enabled but have not selected any system types, the following error message is displayed:
You must make at least one system type selection when enabling Filters.
Click Automatic Discovery at the top of the page to return to the Automatic Discovery - General Settings page.
The Automatic Discovery - Filters page is not protected from multiple users accessing the page at the same time. The last user to save the settings has their settings take affect. If Discovery is in progress and the settings are applied by either a different user or the same user, any remaining systems to be processed have the settings applied.
