Discovery templates are files that can be used by Automatic Discovery in lieu of typing the addresses directly in to the Ping inclusion ranges or Exclusion ranges fields. They are designed to be used as a quick way to change the scope of Automatic Discovery.
Click Automatic Discovery at the top of the page to return to the Automatic Discovery - General Settings page.

To create a Discovery Template file: Select Options Discovery Automatic Discovery templates in the IP address ranges section of the page. The Automatic Discovery - Manage Templates page is displayed. Click [New]. The Create New Template section is displayed. In the Discovery template name field, enter a name for the new template. This is a required field. Either click [Browse] to select an existing discovery template file that is present on the local client (the system from which you are browsing) and click [Import]. or Enter the discovery range information into the Contents area.
Note: Template files can not be nested, so only ranges are allowed. Click [OK] to save the discovery template file, or click [Cancel] to close without saving changes.
After creating a Discovery Template, to reference it in Automatic Discovery use
@template_name
in the Ping inclusion ranges or Exclusion Ranges fields. Refer to Discovery - IP Ranges for more information.

To edit a Discovery Template file: Click Options Options Discovery Automatic Discovery templates in the IIP address rangesI section of the page. The Automatic Discovery - Manage Templates page is displayed. On the Automatic Discovery - Manage Templates page, select the file to edit. Click [Edit]. The Edit Template section is displayed for the selected template file. Make your changes in the Edit Template section. Click [OK] to save changes, or click [Cancel] to to close without saving changes.

To delete a Discovery Template file: Select Options Discovery Automatic Discovery templates in the IP address ranges section of the page. The IAutomatic Discovery - Manage TemplatesI page is displayed. On the IAutomatic Discovery - Manage TemplatesI page, under IDiscovery Template NameI column, select a discovery template file to delete. Click [Delete]. The template is deleted.
