Introduction

Users with full configuration rights can administer HP Systems Insight Manager. Administration of HP Systems Insight Manager involves:

  • Configuring and running Discovery and Manual Discovery

  • Identifiy systems

  • Manage Hosts files and template files

  • Manage system types by creating, editing, and deleting SNMP and DMI rules

  • Set global and single system protocol settings

  • Configure and run status polling tasks

  • Configure automatic event handling by creating and editing tasks, configuring e-mail settings, modem settings, delete events, event filter settings, SNMP trap settings, and status change event settings

  • Configure the Cluster Monitor cluster and node settings

  • Run data collection tasks

  • Customize the Home page options

  • Select and maintain default HP Version Control Repository Manager for advanced searches and tasks like installing software and firmware

  • Managing toolboxes

  • Managing authorizations

  • Managing users

  • Managing systems group

  • Monitoring the Audit Log

You must be a user with full configuration rights on a system to access the Options menu and perform HP Systems Insight Manager administration tasks.
