What is scalable visualization?
The HP scalable visualization technology provides a revolutionary architecture that dramatically exceeds industry capabilities in the key areas of:

  • performance
  • image quality
  • flexibility
  • scalability

You can independently select your image quality, the level of performance you need and the size and resolution of your display. The solution is then composed to deliver in all three areas for the total experience. Using the design and architecture of HP's scalable visualization, a virtually unlimited number of graphics render nodes are available to achieve the optimum combination of resources for the needed results. The render nodes can also be reconfigured on the fly to deliver more performance for interactive fly through visualizations and then snap to the highest level of image quality to study a particular line of sight.

What is unique about HP's Visualization Centers?
Unlike other visualization systems on the market today the HP sv7 is designed to track and use best-in-class graphics, CPUs, I/O and networking technologies as the core building blocks for scalability. This allows the system to ride the front edge of the industry innovation curve, scaling performance and image quality by 3-5 times the best-in-class capablities on the desk. This also allows the flexibility of a system to be configured as entry or massively scaled to support huge models at extreme resolutions and high image quality.

The system is also built on the principle of transparent application support. This means applications do not need to be coded to take advantage of higher image quality and resolution scaling.

Who are HP's current customers for these systems?
Currently, the HP xv7 is used by large scale manufacturing customers in the automotive, aerospace and defense industries requiring the highest imaging and performing graphics - especially for styling/concept presentations and engineering design reviews.

In addition the HP Scalable sv7 can be configured as a large scale visualization center, a compute cluster or accessed as individual workstations. This flexibility makes it a good choice for other industries that need both high performance compute and visualization resources.

What is the price range of HP sv7 systems?
$92K - $430K

Where can I see a demo of the HP sv7 systems?
Hewlett-Packard's Technical Computing Division, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA has a large-scale visualization center facility, including the entry and scalable systems. This facility is ready for demonstrations as well as application benchmarking. Please contact your HP sales representative for more information on the Fort Collins HP sv7 facility or to locate an HP sv7 demo center in your region.
