Moody is a 112-year old theological university based in Chicago, Illinois with 1,500 full-time students, 150 faculty and approximately 200 administrative employees. Moody owns a network of radio stations, operates their own publishing company (Moody Press), their own bookstore, as well as an aviation school in Tennessee. Moody has been a long-time HP customer.

In July, 1997, HP teamed up with Forsythe Solutions Group to replace Moody's existing network with an updated high-speed student, faculty and administrative network. The goal was to provide network/internet access to the entire university allowing students dorm room access and giving faculty the ability to push/pull course content over the network.

Once HP/Forsythe won the bid requiring installation by the end of August 1998, Forsythe began the process of installing 250 HP ProCurve switches, numerous HP9000's and HP NetServers,, and 150 Vectra VL7 333MHz desktops for the faculty. Moody's new network was up and running during the week of August 17. Forsythe is providing 24 x 7 Remote Network Management of Moody's network on an ongoing basis.

Frank Leber, Moody's CIO, chose the HP/Forsythe solution over several other competitors. "We've purchased HP products for years and are consistently happy with the product quality, state of the art technology, and high standards for customer services," said Leber. In addition, Leber was sold on the teamwork that was shown repeatedly over many months between HP and Forsythe. "The teamwork between HP and its resellers is unbeatable and puts HP above the competition. No other vendor demonstrated to Moody the kind of close working relationship between manufacturer and channel partner," added Leber.
