L'Anse Creuse Public Schools, of Clinton Township, Michigan, began buying HP products in the 1980's. Today, L'Anse Creuse has standardized on HP PCs, HP servers and notebook products.

L'Anse Creuse is comprised of nine elementary schools, three junior high Schools, two high schools and one vocational school serving 10,0004 students. There are approximately 2500 HP PC's used throughout the district for administrative purposes; technology labs, classroom computing, staff development, Special Education, media centers and a new program called "Keyboard Kids."

The KeyBoard Kids program involves school district management placing recycled HP classroom and lab PCs from district schools into the homes of approximately 200 3rd and 4th grade students. Students are invited to participate in the program based upon their particular abilities and needs. In addition to providing PCs, the district supplies software in the areas of math, language arts, keyboarding and word processing. Student lessons are created for the students from preschool through adult levels. "The KeyBoard Kids program provides a unique opportunity for students to get individualized instruction using technology in their homes," states Dan Barbrow, Elementary Computer Coordinator for L'Anse Creuse.
