Maximize your notebook's wireless connection

This free download1 boosts the performance of the integrated 54g™ wireless LAN of select HP notebooks when they're connected to a wireless router with compatible technology.

Eligible notebooks

The following notebooks2 currently support this upgrade offer:
» HP Pavilion zv5000
» HP Pavilion zx5000
» HP Pavilion zd7000
» Compaq Presario R3000

Software benefits & overview

Increased performance for home and small business networks - up to 33% faster than standard 802.11g
Works with Linksys routers with SpeedBooster™ and other brands that support High Speed Mode
Backward compatible with any 802.11b or 802.11g WLAN (at standard data rates)

The software upgrade works with Linksys wireless routers with Speedbooster™ technology and with other wireless routers brands with 125* High Speed Mode. These are 54g™ performance enhancements that provide the fastest wireless connectivity for 802.11g-capable networks in most home and small business environments.

This technology is designed for local networks that need additional bandwidth for applications such as sharing digital photos. These fast modes make 802.11g WLANs more efficient without impacting the performance of neighboring networks, and are compatible at high speeds with leading wireless routers.
