Software benefits & overview |
 |
 |
| |
Increased performance for home and small business networks - up to 33% faster than standard 802.11g

The software upgrade works with Linksys wireless routers with Speedbooster technology and with other
wireless routers brands with 125* High Speed Mode. These are 54g performance enhancements that provide the
fastest wireless connectivity for 802.11g-capable networks in most home and small business environments.

This technology is designed for local networks that need additional bandwidth for applications such as sharing
digital photos. These fast modes make 802.11g WLANs more efficient without impacting the performance of
neighboring networks, and are compatible at high speeds with leading wireless routers.

1 HP provides the software upgrade via a web download at no additional charge.
An internet connection is required. SpeedBooster is a trademark of Linksys. 54g, Xpress, and 125* High
Speed Mode are trademarks of Broadcom Corporation.

2 Not all models will support this upgrade. The notebook must be configured with a Broadcom
54g WLAN at the time of purchase.

* When operating in 125 High Speed Mode, this Wi-Fi® device achieves an actual
throughput of up to 34.1 Mbps, which is the equivalent throughput of a system following 802.11g protocol and
operating at a signaling rate of 125 Mbps. Actual throughput will vary depending on environmental, operational
and other parameters.
