What is the HP Renew Program?
The HP Renew Program is a world-wide program established to address and manage the disposition of returned HP computer
technology. Through an extensive program of remanufacturing, recertification, and aggressive marketing, HP Renew offers you
current, state of the art technology that is guaranteed to be as good as new, the same quality and performance you would
expect from new, and comes with the same full warranty as equivalent new product.
Our high standards of quality assurance deliver a product that is not only performance based, but cost compelling. Our list
price is lower than new, and most of our products are offered on aggressive promotions, thus delivering you a high performance,
low cost solution when price really counts.
What is the difference between remanufactured and refurbished products?
The distinction between remanufactured and refurbished equipment is not always obvious. HP Renew products are remanufactured to
be the equivalent of new and carry the same warranty and service options as new products. Refurbished or used equipment is generally
not fully tested and or certified to meet like-new standards. Purchasing a remanufactured product from HP Renew offers the peace of
mind afforded by a new product at a 15-40% discount over new.

What type of warranty comes with HP Renew products?
All products in the HP Renew Program come with Same as New warranties.
In other words, there is no difference between a new HP product warranty and an HP Renew product warranty. The full, same-as-new
warranty starts at the time the HP Renew solution is delivered and is NOT a remaining warranty policy. As an example, if a new
product has a 3 year warranty, the Renew solution will carry a 3 year warranty from the time the customer takes delivery.
Additionally, all products in the HP Renew Program can have their warranties uplifted to accommodate Critical System Support,
extended to 3Yr 24x7 or HP care packs. Basically, any support uplift that is available for new product is also available for
HP Renew product.
How is a product remanufactured?
Remanufactured HP products undergo a rigorous process in factories owned and managed by HP to completely restore them to their original factory condition and performance.
Every product in the HP Renew portfolio is thoroughly tested to ensure that they meet the same stringent standards as new products and, once verified, they are backed by a
same-as-new HP warranty. In addition, service and support options are equivalent to that offered with new HP products and the most current software revisions are installed.
How do you guarantee data security on HP Renew remanufactured products?
Since products in the HP Renew portfolio are returned to HP from various sources, there are often concerns about data being removed before the products are resold. As part of the
rigorous refurbishment process all HP Renew products go through, all returned drives are reformatted and retested. During this process every drive is wiped clean of any data and
every disk is separately overwritten. The process is based on methods described in the "National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual (US DoD 5220.22-M) of the US
Department of Defense" so you can be assured the most stringent standards are implemented.
Who is eligible to buy HP Renew products?
For BCS & enterprise-class storage products:

End-User customers who utilize any Certified HP Enterprise Account Partner (EAP) and their distributors (a.k.a.
Enterprise Channel Partners or ECP for short) currently active and participating in the eHIP Program

End-User customers currently pre-qualified to buy direct from Hewlett-Packard utilizing their existing Purchase
Agreement Discount (PAD) contract or Volume End-User (VEU) contract by means of any HP Customer Business Center or
HP Inside Sales Center

HP Renew server and storage products are now available on HP Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) and
Educational & Institutional Cooperative Purchasing (E&I) contracts at prices at least 15% below standard contract pricing.

Is HP Renew affiliated with HP Financial Services?
HP Renew and HP Financial Services (HPFS) are two separate organizations. Although HP Renew does partner with
HPFS on remarketed leasing opportunities, HP Renew is the only organization sanctioned to sell currently active remanufactured
HP 9000, Integrity and ISS servers & SWD products. Eighty percent (80%) of the products in the HP Renew
Program are less than one year old, whereas products offered by HPFS are generally older then 18 months and are no longer
actively sold as part of the current HP product portfolio.
Who is TVS?
They are Technology Value Solutions. TVS is the remarketing division of the HP Financial Services organization. If you're
interested in remarketed Alpha products in particular, TVS can assist you.
TVS can also come into play where older technologies are in demand, basically anything inactive on CPL and older than 18 months.
These products will no longer be available through HP Renew and we will be happy to refer you to the appropriate TVS sales
representative in such cases.
