HP AlphaServers are the sturdy workhorses of many IT departments, coupling good solid performance with maximum reliability. Their 64-bit architecture has been considered one of the best-performing computer architectures since it was launched by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in 1992.
Offering reliability, availability, friendly service, scalability, and superior clustering – when combined with the OpenVMS and Tru64 UNIX® operating systems, HP AlphaServers always meet IT departments' expectations.
HP discontinued production of AlphaServers at the end of April 2007. The production of new options stops in April 2008.
Many customers have invested a great deal in their systems, mainly because of the performance and reliability of AlphaServers, so a large and loyal community of AlphaServer users will remain over the coming years.
HP will continue to support these loyal customers, allowing them to complete their migration plans within their own time frames. We will be able to meet the demand for HP AlphaServers, options, and upgrades, even after production stops, with fully remanufactured systems and components from the HP Renew Program.
HP continues to offer, indefinitely, factory-refurbished systems and options through the HP Renew Program in EMEA, AP, and Japan; and Technology Value Solutions (TVS) in the Americas.
The portfolio covers several generations of Alpha technology and models, as well as the related options and upgrades. And, of course, it also includes the complete range of servers – from Entry-class Servers and mid-range models through to high-end servers.
Evolving to HP Integrity servers |
 |
 |
| To take care of long-term, strategic IT decisions, many companies are now looking toward the futureproof HP Integrity server platforms. These combine the benefits of modern virtualization technologies with the security offered by a high-availability and powerful architecture. HP Integrity servers based on Itanium® offer an optimum price/performance ratio and can solve the most challenging tasks in HP-UX, OpenVMS, Linux®, and Microsoft® Windows® environments – efficiently and cost-effectively.
If you are already reaching the capacity limits of your Alpha systems, HP would be happy to tell you about the benefits of changing over, the planning steps required, and the services on offer.
