How to download software add-ins

You can install Add-ins from Windows Home Server Settings on the Windows Home Server Console.

  1. Obtain the .msi file for the Add-in from the vendor and copy the file to a hard drive on a home or office personal computer.
  2. Right-click the Windows Home Server tray icon WHS, and then click Shared Folders.
  3. In Shared Folders, double-click the Software folder.
  4. Double-click the Add-Ins folder.
  5. Copy the .msi file to the Add-ins folder.
  6. Close the Add-ins folder.
  7. Right-click the Windows Home Server tray icon WHS, and then click Windows Home Server Console.
  8. Type the Windows Home Server password, and then click Next.
  9. Click Settings in the upper right corner of the Windows Home Server console.
  10. On Windows Home Server Settings, click the Add-ins icon.
  11. Click the Available tab.
  12. Click Install to install the Add-in.
  13. Click OK on the Installation succeeded dialog box to restart the console.
  14. Reconnect to the console. If your new Add-in includes a console tab, the new tab now appears on the console.
