In order to scan negatives and slides, you’ll need an HP Photo Scanner or All-in-One printer with a transparent materials adapter (TMA), which allows enough detail to be highlighted within the scans. How to use it Voice over: Insert your negatives or slides into the holder. Arrange the holder print side down in the right front corner of the glass. Press Scan Menu and select an option. Scanning your slides or negatives is easy once you have the right equipment. Simply insert your negatives or slides into the holder. Arrange the holder print side down in the right front corner of the glass. Access the Scan Menu on the control panel – the scan will be sent to the destination you select. That’s it! Scanning tips Keep in mind a few simple tips when using your HP scanner or All-in-One to scan slides or negatives. Scan at the right resolution – 300ppi is a good resolution to consider if you want to get a high quality print with your scanned files. Edit your scanned images – With HP products, software is pre-loaded, so you can easily restore faded color, adjust color or brightness. Back up your files – Your file sizes will add up quickly, so use your CDs, DVDs or external hard drive for saving.
