Micro-SD card or USB?
If your phone supports a Micro-SD card, you can find it inside the phone, near the battery.
Many HP Officejet printers and older HP Photosmart printers feature USB ports.
Many camera phones and smartphones use a Micro-SD card to store photos. This card can be found inside your phone, near the phone’s battery.
To use the Micro-SD method:
- Your mobile phone needs to support a Micro-SD card.
- The Micro-SD card needs a corresponding adapter. You can find an adapter at any store that sells phones and electronics.
- Your printer will need a memory card slot. Widely available on most HP Photosmart printers, the memory card slot will be located on the front of the printer.
Other mobile phones support connectivity via a USB cable, which typically comes with your phone.
To use the USB method:
- Your mobile phone needs to support a USB cable.
- You will need the USB cable that came with your phone. Don’t have it? Find one at stores that sell phones and electronics.
- Your printer will need a USB port. Many HP Officejet printers and older HP Photosmart printers feature USB ports.

Print mobile phone photos from a Micro-SD card
Step 1: You will need to insert your phone's Micro-SD card into a card adapter so it will fit into your printer's memory card slot.
Step 2: Your Micro-SD card adapter will fit easily into the memory card slot on your HP Photosmart printer.
Printing from your phone’s Micro-SD card is virtually the same as printing from your digital camera’s memory card. The following instructions feature the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One, but the steps will be similar on most printers.
- Remove the Micro-SD card from your mobile phone.
- Insert the Micro-SD card into the card adapter and insert the card adapter into the printer’s memory card slot.
- On the printer’s touchscreen, select Photo from the options menu
- Select View and Print.
- Select the photos you’d like to print from the touchscreen. You can choose to print one or multiple images at a time. From here, you can:
- Touch Edit to crop and adjust brightness and color
- Touch Adjust Settings to set the paper type and size
- When finished, touch Print.
You can also upload your mobile phone photos to your PC—see how.
