Micro-SD card or USB?
Many camera phones use a miniature memory card—such as a Micro-SD—to store photos.
Using a USB cable is another method to print your mobile phone photos.
Many camera phones and smart phones use a miniature memory card—such as a Micro-SD—to store photos. This card can be found inside your phone, near the phone’s battery.
To use the Micro-SD method:
- Your mobile phone needs to support a Micro-SD card. If you are unsure, check your phone’s manual.
- The Micro-SD card needs a corresponding Micro-SD card adapter to fit into larger memory card slots. Adapters are widely available at stores that sell mobile phones and electronics.
- Your printer will need a memory card slot. Widely available on most HP Photosmart printers, the memory card slot will be located on the front of the printer to easily accommodate your Micro-SD card adapter.
Other mobile phones support connectivity via a USB cable. This cable will have a USB plug on one end and a smaller plug at the other end for your mobile device.
To use the USB method:
- Your mobile phone needs to support a USB cable. If you are unsure, check your phone’s manual.
- You will need the USB cable that came with your phone. Don’t have it? USB cables are usually available at stores that sell phones and electronics. Or, contact your mobile phone service provider.
Your printer will need a USB port. If your printer has a USB port, it is usually found on the front of the printer. New HP Officejet printers and older HP Photosmart printers feature USB ports.
