Backing up your online photo archives

HP personal media drive connected to an HP Notebook PC.
Preserve and protect your digital photos by backing up your collection on an external hard drive, such as an HP personal media drive.

Technology has made storing photos online as safe and secure as ever, but as with any photo archiving method, it's important to save your photos in more than one location.

  • If you have a large image library or want to back up other data (such as documents and music files), it may be worthwhile to archive on an external hard drive. Try a personal media drive, such as the HP 500GB Personal Media Drive.
  • Because of their portability and relatively low cost, CD and DVD media is a popular choice for backing up photo albums. Find tips to archive photos to CD and DVD media.
  • If you've already uploaded your photos to Snapfish, let them create a backup disc for you. To order, click on the photo album you'd like saved to disc, and select Photo CD from the Things you can do menu.
