A large image of the word "Mom" spelled with photos on a wall

Introduction

You have photos and a blank wall. But you don't have any picture frames. Don't let that stop you from creating instant wall art. All you need are photos and reusable tape. It's easy, it's inexpensive. And you can change it on a whim.

Print, shape, and tape: instant art!

Step 1: Choose a shape

First, pick a shape. It can be anything simple–a word, initial, star, heart. You can outline the shape onto your wall with colored painting tape or arrange the photos on the floor first. Or just start taping up your pictures. Whatever suits your style!

Step 2: Print pictures

Gather and print enough photos to construct your shape. (You'll need anywhere from twenty five 4" x 6" pictures for a small display up to 100 for a large shape.) Experiment with color by printing pictures that are mostly one hue, such as red or green.

Step 3: Tape up your art

It's important to use reusable tape that will come off your wall–and your photos–when you remove your pictures. This makes it easy for you to move pictures around until you get the shape just right, too.
