HP Photosmart Essential makes viewing and selecting your images as simple as one-two-three. Select the View tab in
the My Pictures folder to view thumbnails, large images or slide shows. To see images on your PC but not in your
My Pictures folder use the Get Images function to bring your photos into HP Photosmart Essential and simply
navigate through.

HP Photosmart Essential supports most common photo file formats: JPEG (*.jpg), TIFF (*.tif), and BMP (*.bmp).

So how do you view your images?
There are four ways:

1: By default, the viewing area shows thumbnails from the folder with the most recent
images. But what if the images you want aren't there? Navigate to the photos you want by selecting folders in the
"View" area. If you can't find a photo but you know it is in these folders, click
"Search" to search for it. You can search by date, keyword, folder name, or image name.
If you want to import new images, click "Get Images" to get images from your computer,
digital camera, printer or memory card reader.

2: Make searching for photos easier by selecting an image and giving it a name or keyword.
Simply click on the image thumbnail. In the "View" area, you'll see the details of the
selected file. Type in a memorable name or keyword in the "Keyword" box.

3: You can click any of the buttons above the viewing area to view your images as
thumbnails, single images, full-screen images or slide shows.

4: Select images using the check box underneath and to the left of the image. A green
check will appear. You'll be able to fix, print, and create projects using the selected image. Only the images you
select on the "View" tab will be available on other tabs in HP Photosmart Essential.

Selecting your images is easy
When viewing as thumbnails, single view or full screen, simply click on the "Select" check
box. In slide show, click the image.

The selection table at the bottom of the screen shows the number of selected images. Click
"Show Selections" to view thumbnails of all the selected images. Double-click any
thumbnail in the selection table to view it in "Single View."

To deselect an image, simply click the check box to clear it. You can also right-click on any image in the selection
tray and select "Clear Selection."
