Adjust lighting and remove red-eye

HP Photosmart Essential allows editing at any point as you create beautiful images while the Auto Fix feature can make photos better as they print. It's easy to improve poor lighting and eliminate red-eye.

Adjusting the lighting of your image

Step 1: Choose the "Edit" tab

Click the "Color & Light" button in the "Edit" tab.

Step 2: Click the appropriate lighting button

Make your photo warmer (more red) or cooler (more blue), or select Adaptive Lighting to brighten dark shadows without affecting the bright areas of your image. Click the "Done" button.

Removing red-eye

Step 1: Choose the "Edit" tab

Click the "Red-eye" button in the "Edit" tab.

Step 2: Correct the problem

Place the pencil over the problem area and click. Presto! The red eyes vanish. Wasn't that easy? You're done!

Keep track of your images

Sometimes when you're editing a photo, it seems like the original gets lost or misplaced somewhere on the computer. HP Photosmart Essential eliminates this annoying problem by automatically saving your original (using the format "imagename.jpg.orig") when you modify a photo. You'll never have to worry about losing an image again because you can always undo all of your changes to get back to the original image.
