No Original HP printer toner cartridges returned through HP Planet Partners are ever sent to a landfill. HP accepts every Original HP printer toner cartridge for recycling. Remanufacturers frequently send cartridges and components they collect but find unusable to the landfills.1

Design: The Original HP LaserJet printer toner cartridge 'closed loop' recycling process uses recycled plastic from Original HP LaserJet printer toner cartridges to make new Original HP LaserJet printer toner cartridges. For Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges manufactured with reclaimed materials, up to 20% of the cartridge is made from recycled and recovered content.2 In 2009, HP used 3 million pounds of recycled plastic in the manufacturing of Original HP LaserJet toner cartridges.
Manufacturing: Original HP LaserJet printer toner cartridges are manufactured at facilities that are certified under ISO 14001, an internationally recognized standard of environmental management systems.2
