UPCYCLED WOODEN BOWLS
I began redecorating my Eclectic Dawn Arts studio as a vintage tiki bar, and I started collecting all sorts of vintage Hawaiiania. This included various shapes of monkeypod bowls from thrift stores and rummage sales. Instead of hanging them on the walls, I looked at them one day and decided to start painting colorful designs on them. These $1.99 and under bowls are now decorated with colorful tribal designs with influences from henna, Maori, New Zealand, tiki culture, Key West, and Native American culture. Out of the first batch of ten, four sold immediately, and requests came pouring in. The bowls are selling like hotcakes with prices ranging from $18 to $45, which means that merchants can even buy them for resale at a reasonable price. It's so much better than seeing these vintage pieces rotting in a garage or basement, as they now have new life as colorful décor items!
