PRINTING EVEN A PLANET COULD LOVE.
HP is committed to environmental responsibility. Period. In fact, HP was ranked #1 out of the 500 largest U.S. companies in Newsweek's 2009 Green Rankings.
HP has shipped more than 500 million inkjet cartridges through its "closed loop" inkjet recycling process. This innovative process is an industry first, allowing recycled plastic from empty cartridges returned through the Planet Partners program as well as recycled plastic from other sources to be used in the manufacture of new Original HP cartridges.
Incidentally, our Planet Partners program has recycled more than 198 million printer cartridges since 1991, and will recycle another 250 million in 2009 alone. No HP cartridge returned through the program ever ends up as landfill.
Kodak, conversely, has no recycling initiative.
HP has also pledged to using only photo paper that has been certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, while our PhotoSmart printers use significantly less energy than comparable Kodak models, which can have among the highest energy consumption in their classes
