Catalyst for HPC innovation

Overview

HP sees Grid technologies providing a general and powerful way to virtualize resources - that is, to abstract resources connected to a network from their physical instantiations - and present these resources to clients as services.

HP is driving the technologies, standards and solutions that make grid computing a powerful strategy for the enterprise today. Grid solutions virtualize your heterogeneous resources – servers storage, network devices, data stores, and application services – so you can collaborate efficiently across organizational boundaries and even outside the corporation. Grid computing is a key enabler of the Converged Infrastructure, where IT is an agile service aligned with business to help you capitalize on change.

The HP approach

The HP commitment to Grid is underlined by collaborative engagement with customers and partners who are members of the Grid community. An example is HP's participation in CERN Openlab for DataGrid applications projects. HP also collaborates with partners who propose Grid solutions in vertical markets.
