| In partnership with Red Hat and Novell, HP offers specially-priced subscriptions for compute nodes in HPC clusters. Combine with enterprise server subscriptions for general purpose and head nodes to ensure full coverage and access to upgrades and software patches. HP's integrated XC Clusters include a comprehensive software solution, comprised of Linux operating system, cluster management, schedulers, and selected libraries and drivers. This XC System Software includes technology from the open source community and our partners Platform Computing, Quadrics, Voltaire and Myricom, integrated by HP into a single, unified production system. This architectural approach delivers high performance and support for large scale deployments with the simplicity of a centrally managed resource (details).
Other Linux Cluster Management Products available on HP cluster platforms include
- HP Cluster Management Utility - CMU is an efficient and robust tool for the management of HPC Linux clusters and compute farms, with support for multiple Linux distributions. A simple graphic interface enables centralized console management, monitoring of cluster-wide and node-specific metrics, and software installation.
- HP Insight Control Environment - Linux- ICE-Linux (Insight Control Environment, Linux) provides a single point of control for tying Linux server and cluster environments to an organization’s broader data center. It simplifies discovery, imaging, monitoring and management for Linux-based HP ProLiant server platforms. With easy-to-read graphical displays, ICE-Linux provides a fully integrated solution for monitoring system and high performance cluster health. The interface is designed to enable easy customization, allowing customers to leverage open source tools that can greatly reduce costs and system downtime.
- Platform Manager, from Platform Computing, is a commercial, standards-based application that delivers total cluster management in today's heterogeneous and increasingly dynamic IT environment. It provides a unified view of heterogeneous, multi-cluster environments. Platform Manager was formerly offered as Scali Manage.
