Dear Customer,
Our Support and Quality Assurance organizations have identified
a problem with several files distributed with Web Transaction
Observer version A.03.00. Due to a bug (Sun Microsystems bug ID #4396720)
in the Java plugin-1.3.0/JRE 1.3.0, several signed applets will not function
properly one year after the applets were originally signed.
The problem causes several files with an extension ".jar", included with
WTO 3.0 to expire on January 15th, 2002. Once these ".jar" files have expired,
WTO will still function, but you will no longer be able to access the
Configuration GUI. We have solved this problem with a patch that should be
installed on any WTO 3.0 systems.
We recommend that you download this patch, WTO_00005, from the HP OpenView
software patch web site at http://support.openview.hp.com/cpe/patches. This new
patch will be available until October 5th, 2002. Then, a new patch will be
released for .jar files that have been resigned by the new certificate.
In addition to the patch addressing the above issue , another patch for WTO 3.0
is now available. This patch includes several minor fixes for the ActiveX plug-in,
Java applet monitors, and WTO dashboard. This patch, WTO_00004, can be
downloaded from the same location.
